Like breaking down would ever happen.

The first year I took my Chally up there, AAA towed me home the last 86 miles. A lack of fuel pressure because of multiple problems. I won't bore you with the details. Thanks previous owner.  :dupe:

The next year, my car started billowing white smoke when I got close to the Hotel. I blew the torque converter seal. I limped along that Friday, then returned home that Saturday morning. I smoked the crap out of whatever was behind me. It took a gallon of tranny fluid just to get back home. My exhaust pipes, and rear bumper were cover in red tranny fluid. Great picture, isn't it?   I guess the bottom line is, stuff happens. I don't know of any place up there to take your car. How far of a drive is it for you?

EDIT: There are 2 auto parts stores close to the fairgrounds.

Jason,
You're Avatar is a little fuzzy. Did she use too much hair spray?? :roflsmiley: I know I am driving about 400 miles and certainly hope I don't break down :scared:. Stuff happens. I've got AAA plus but they won't tow 400 miles, I think 50?? I guess a reputable contact would be a plus!!

AAA+ covers 100 miles of towing, so that saved me. They will tow further, but then it is on your dime.   :money:

If the car breaks down, I'll put it on the trailer . . if the tow vehicle fails . . . now we have a problem.   :banghead:

Mike, is that 100 mile figure with their extended coverage, AAA Plus or AAA Gold or something like that? When I've had my car towed locally I've been given something like 10 miles on the regular plan.

Yes, I have AAA Plus.  :grinyes:  Of course, the cost is Plus sized too.   :eek7:  So after all these years, they are still making out on me. Just like the insurance companies.  :pullinghair:

Ya know I thought I had posted in this thread but I guess it got lost...

I know a good guy who did all our towing at the dealership.  I can try giving him a call ahead of time just to see if he can kinda be on "stand by" for towing.  He's not exactly local to Carlisle, but not too far out - for the people who will be staying at the hotel and such, he'll be in the area.

Michele, That's wonderful.  :clapping:  Maybe we should exchange cell #'s. If someone has a problem and needs help. I know I'll have a bunch of friends and family at Carlisle. And some of them have tools along. Shelby actually needed some help last year. And some great guys offered to help her.  :2thumbs:
