The color looks great with the clear on, you must be itching now to put it back together.  Remember to tape up all edges when you reassemble to avoid paint chips buddy.

Now i want to see the paint in the sunlight..............please. :2thumbs:

I should be picking the Cuda up this coming Friday or the following Monday. Carlos has to sand and buff the paint and as the shop manager says: "it ain't done till Carlos says it's done". On pick-up day I will get some good outdoor shots plus the car will be with doors trunk and hood.

All but the front seat covers and carpet are original and black. The car has been garaged for all but 5 years so the dash has not cracked and the back seat was rarely used. The interior panels aren't perfect but you have to look close to see the scratches.

The other mod is a HD radio that I put into the DIN opening. I'm also going to add a thin layer of insulation under the carpet to try to cool things down. I don't want to go the add-on A/C route.

Here's a question for anyone: the body shop is dying to put black hockey stripes on - not original but he thinks it will really set the car off? Any opinions?

What engine are you running, Make sure they fit decals hockey stripes and not paint. :2thumbs: Would look cool either Black or White stripes against the Burnt Orange.

I think the black stripe would look great.  I would make sure the paint is well cured before sticking it on there, so it could always be removed later if you change your mind. :2cents:

I'm running with a rebuilt original spec 340 for now. I have a second motor that I am considering building into a monster race motor. I'd use the mild 340 for the bulk of the car's use and then swap in the monster for racing or just 'cause. The way Chrysler built these cars (and because I have a lift at home) it's not a huge job to drop out the K frame and swap motors. But this will have to wait till I recover financially from this project  ::)

Joe the body shop manager suggested the decal stripe so it could be removed later if I wanted to go back to original. Since the interior is black we were thinking black stripe.

It will look great with what ever color you decide and i would take the advice of FJ5_440 and add the decals after the paint has had time to cure properly.

Steve, Looks great... I would go no sticks, because it came that way and everybody and their brother has them. But... everybody has them because they look cool...lol.

And as a point of ionterest for the board...Steve has THE Garage, and he is the 2nd owner of this gem.... It has mostly original parts, and didnt come apart hard. It will be spectacular when completed...unless I steal his pile-o-parts first...

A productive day! The car has been taking a back seat to other responsibilities and I've been feeling the pressure. Got the rear end case back from powdercoating on Friday and it coincided with a free weekend. Got the case in place, attached the brakes and backing plates and it's ready for the rest of the drivetrain! Here are the pics:
