Bought another one-Duster drag car!
« on: March 03, 2008 - 06:13:49 PM »
Since I sold the 69 barracuda I needed to replace it with something and have been looking for another a-body to biuld a drag car out of.I found lots of decent deals but all were too far away to be worth it.I finally just found this `70 Duster on craigs list a couple hours away in Mass. It`s a former drag car that hasn`t been raced in about 5 years, was a 340 727 car running 12.4`s.Unfortunatley the engine and trans were sold to another buyer before I saw it so I`ll have to find a 340 or 360 and put together a 727 from all the parts I have laying around. The good stuff is the 8 3/4 rear with a spool,4.56 gears,Moser axles and super stock springs. It also came with the headers and v8 radiator, fuel cell, battery box and a bunch of other parts. The body will need some work, mainly drivers floor pan and lower quarter/rocker repair and although it has a 6 point bar it was not welded in correctly so will neeed to be cut out and done right.Ok so your all wondering how much?Guy wanted $1200 but it was rougher than I was hoping for so I offered him $800 and he took $900,not a bad deal me thinks.I need another project like a hole in the head but what the he!! you can`t take it with ya!

Has it been a New England Dragway winner at any time in it's life?
Where in Mass did you end up finding it?

Very cool!  I remember seeing that on craigslist.  :grinyes:

Hey torred,
I'm up in Laconia, New Hampshire for the next 3 days for Mercury Marine Tecnician School, and you guys are still packed with snow up here compared to MA  :22yikes:
How'd you trek that Duster home in those conditions  :clapping:
And you found it in Plymouth?................Where else would you find a Duster  :roflsmiley:
