or "Why we should always wear goggles" or "Stupid thing # 4551."

I was getting some pieces ready to paint today, applying thedegreaser/etcher for POR-15. Moving from one point to another, as I lowered myself back down I put one hand on the bumper to steady myself ... and my finger closer on the mister trigger. I spritzed myself right in the eye with that sh!t. In about a quarter second my eyeball was on fire and I was running for the shower with one eye open, so I had no depth perception and kept bumping into crap.  :stomp:

20/20 hindsight (at least I hope it's still 20/20 ) it's funny, though.

:roflsmiley:  I know I shouldn't laugh at that but I do that kind of stuff sometimes to lol.  lucky part is any part of your eye that burned off is probably already healed as the eye is one of the fastest healing parts of your body

Yup, learned long ago to at least wear some glasses.  Been wearing goggles lately though.  I snapped a 1/8" drill bit and had it bounce up straight into my right eye a few years ago.  I put safety glasses on before my wife walked in and told her it went around them.LOL  She drove me to the E-room...

Thanks, Al. I knew it was pretty serious which is why I went for the shower instead of the sink. I wanted to soak it good.

That's good to hear you got it rinsed well.  I've never really gotten much more than small dust particles/dirt in my eyes, but I have been blasted with gasoline in my mouth.  Talk about a bad tasting experience.

When I worked at Ford, I was spraying brake cleaner up around a newly installed oil filter and drain plug (basically just finished an oil change) and was inspecting the underside to make sure I didn't miss anything when a drop of brake clean dripped from the oil pan and landed RIGHT IN MY EYE...  Ever had brake clean in your eye?  Wow...  New kind of pain...
