Some questions that make me wonder.
Are the rear valance cut outs a 'cuda thing or not?
Are there 'Cuda's with 318 engines? Or do they come only with BB?
So is the 'Cuda the performance line like the R/T is for the Charger?
So what makes a 'Cuda a 'Cuda?
Can you say 'Cuda to a Barracuda with the 'Cuda option package?
Little  ??? ???

Not limited to cudas, could be ordered on others as you could get a 383 4 barrel in the barracuda and Gran Coupe

Are there 'Cuda's with 318 engines? Or do they come only with BB?
1972 and up you could order a 318 cuda, 70/71 340 was the smallest

So is the 'Cuda the performance line like the R/T is for the Charger?
Yes it is the performance model, Gran Coupe is the luxury model

So what makes a 'Cuda a 'Cuda?
Its just an option package, usually upgraded suspension, badging, trim, performance engine, etc.

Can you say 'Cuda to a Barracuda with the 'Cuda option package?
Not sure I understand this one.

Barracudas could be ordered with three packages, barracuda, gran coupe and cuda. Cuda's had the rear cutouts and were the sport version of the barracuda. I do not know if some Barracudsas could be specially ordered with the rear exhaust cutouts. Cudas came only with V8 engines. The Challenger base and Gran coupes base engine was the six cylinder. BArracudas biggest engine was a 383 (i think). The 70-71 Cuda came with 340, 383, 440, 440-6 and hemi. In 72 the big blocks were not available and the 360 was avaialbe as it met the emissions requirements but a 340 wa also avaialbe. R/T is road track and is Dodge. Coronet, Charger and Challenger. R/t Is the Dodge equivalent to the Plymouth Cuda R/T's had  the rear exhaust cutouts for the Challengers. You could order a R/t with a (340 debatable by some=A66 package) 383, 440-6, 440 and hemi until the end of 71

N41 dual exhaust, N42 cutouts with chrome tips. Yes you can call yours a cuda. Most people refer to 70-74 barracudas as cudas regardless of factory trim pacakge.

I'm a little rusty on plymouth E-bodies, but, I'll try my hand at this:

Are the rear valance cut outs a 'cuda thing or not?
Generally yes, but there were plain Barracudas that got them.

Are there 'Cuda's with 318 engines? Or do they come only with BB?
From 70-71 the Base 'cuda engine was 383 4bbl.  340, 440, and hemi engines were optional.  In 72, the 'cuda package could include a 318 or 340.  In 74 they replaced the 340 with the 360.  Also of note, in these years 72-74, you could get the 340/360 in the Barracuda.

So is the 'Cuda the performance line like the R/T is for the Charger?
Yes

So what makes a 'Cuda a 'Cuda?
Second digit of the VIN.  BH is base Barracuda, BP is Gran Coupe and BS is 'cuda

I guess so, 'cuda was used from 64-68 before it became an option/model on the Barracuda.

oh, and for 69, 'cudas only had 340s, 383s, and 440s, was a special package with a BH VIN (just like the normal Barracuda)
