Thanks everyone. Some additional pics I took today attached.
It is an original JH that spent its whole life in Calif with original owner until late '06 when the guy I bought it from shipped it to the east coast and just finished the resto. He put the '68 Imperial 440 and matching Tranny in -- but retained the original 318/tranny which I also kept. Originally this was green with no rust, he chemically stripped it and now it is FC7! It still has the original seam seals in the trunk! New hood, new interior, top, torsion bars, springs, etc. Overall, this guy did a nice job and decided he was done and it was time to move on...... which became my opportunity!
As it is fresh off resto -- and has not really been test-driven much at all yet (So far I've driven it around a parking lot, on/off the trailer and in/out of my garage today.) Starts & runs great -- but needs alignement and inspection before I can really take it out to see how it goes (will drive it over Monday .... but need to be gentle). So, having never driven a 440-6 before, I am chomping at the bit to see how different this is from my '74 360 Rallye
Of course, you might see the snow that we still have up here in a background pic.....
I've discovered a few things to finish (missing seat belts and the drivers window has a sizeable gap when I put the top up..... some trim, etc. ) BUT -- all in all -- I feel like I've hit the Mother Load! Thanks for all the kind words -- as I discover a few missing things here and there -- especially about Convertibles, perhaps some of you experts can give me some advice!
