    Thanks, Wally, I'll keep that in mind.  If I can't get a decent connection in the socket, I may be looking for a new RF signal housing, but for now, it's OK.  I may be heading out to El Centro to strip some decent parts off the burned wreck that David Wymore found if and when he buys it out of the junkyard.  Just what I want to do - go to the desert in the middle of August.

    Just read most of this thread. They can be like little novels - and this one is like the 'Never Ending Story", with lots of "Triumph Over Evil" thrown in!!
    Great progess - I know it seems like it takes forever to get some little things accomplished, doesn't it!? But you're moving forward - sure is nice to see all the help and motivation offered - great community on this site!
    Keep it up, many of us are "rooting you on"! :popcorn:

    Lots of boxes today.  :bigsmile:  Eastwood tubing bender, Ron Francis wiring kit and the heater box front cover, complete with dashpots still attached, from Chuck.  Chuck, you ROCK!!

    OK, so the last two weekends I wasn't as busy as I hoped, between work, honey-do's, impromptu projects and unplanned family obligations, so I've done almost nothing on the car.  But today I got some presents.  :bigsmile:

    Thanks, guys.  I'm pretty excited too.

    Scott, I don't have all my parts yet.  I've got my wish list going at Summit - I still need the cam, fuel pump, alternator, carb, water pump...you get the idea.  I should have ordered already, but I'm kind of glad I didn't because the machine shop did a few things for me that I hadn't anticipated, so I don't need to order a few items.  I'll probably mock the engine up soon and paint it before I start the actual assembly.  I also want to finish re-assembling the heater box first.

    Kenny, those are KB278 hypereutectics.  The compression will be about 9.2:1.  I didn't want to push it with iron heads and I can change to aluminum later with a smaller chamber to up the ratio later if I want to.

    Today, I stripped the paint off the oil pan and re-mounted the tail lights.  Finally, I'm starting to put things back ON the car.    :bananasmi
