My m46 scoops should be done this week
« on: April 07, 2008 - 01:47:21 PM »
I am hoping to have pictures of my M46 barracuda to show everyone by saturday. The body shop has the scoops now and is putting the organasol paint on them. He said before friday. I leave sun morning for Mobile for 4 weeks, so I hope to put them on to show everyone.

I also ordered the rest of my over the axle factory exhaust. Hoping it gets here tomorrow. I wanted to take my car and drive it to mobile for a month, but it has 43k original miles on it and has never been in rain. I got it out of the Mojave dessert. I dont want it to get rained on while at a motel, and havent did anything for door locks as of yet.

Even though it has 3 carbs on it, I am not worried about the fuel costs to drive it 448 miles one way. I am building it to drive, but not in the rain.

Hope to get recent pics soon for everyone

This ought to be VERY cool to see the pics!  :grinyes:

Are the scoops the last thing to be done on the car?  :clueless:

I still have to do the decklid/quarter chrome. I have it, just hadnt bought the clip package to install yet.  I also have to install the barracuda emblems on the fenders still. I covered the holes and need to drill them back out. Hard for me to drill very good. I have the emblems.

This is not a show car guys, just what I drive around town everyday when I am home from working on the road. It is really being a good dependable grocery getter. Not giving any problems ...knock wood

3rd m46 car i have owned. I never new what an m46 car really was. That is why I covered the holes on these fenders then realized to put it back the way it came

With a car like that I bet you'll be running out of milk a lot....  :grinyes:  :roflsmiley:

I am really looking forward to seeing them on the car.  I can't imagine how lucky you have gotten if you managed to own three of them.   I have never even seen one up close.

BTW, I love that car, showcar or not.  I would actually rather see them running around in the wild than perfectly restored on a bed of mirrors.  :2thumbs:

:iagree: I do appreciate the restored rare models, even understand them getting treated beter than I'd treat a lot of people  :roflsmiley: But nothing better than seening them cruise into a gas station or some dairy qeen etc. Face it, they were made to drive. Now Al, if it was a known fact that you had the last one in existance, I'd probably scorn ya for your lack of respect to the deare ladie.  :smilielol:

I talked to the body shop today and they said they were in primer now, at 11:30 , so I am hoping they get painted tomorrow and I have a chance to install them before I leave out for work. The rest of my exhaust should be in tomorrow too. I'm glad im getting closer to all the things being installed. Seems like its taking forever.

I didnt get to play in the shop today. I was looking at a 58 chrysler 300 with a 392 hemi engine in it forsale. It is ruff, but runs and I can maybe get it for 1500 bucks, but not sure as of yet. His mechanic friend said that, I also found a junk yard in that area and it had 4 duster, dart, vailiants in it. 1 was a 67 gt dart with a /6, then I found a 70 road runner near by, but the guy wont sell and it will rot into nothing , he has no money to repair and he wont budge, been setting there for 8 trs or so. Had a wing, hemi orange paint, wide rocker moldings, 3 speed wipers, hood stripe and original mags still on it. Shame to see it go to waste. But a long day and didnt think to take my camera :dunno:

My scoops are drying now, I hope to try to install them tomorrow. No fed ex truck yet for my exhaust. I paid for 2nd day shipping on Saturday. Tomorrow is thursday. 55 bucks down the drain for the time savings. Pics soon---I hope. I leave sunday morning for a month
