Tod,  I think he said his wheels are Keystone Classics. a 70s style wheel.  Yours looks like a Champ 500.
As I understood it Bill was going to use Keystones if he could not fix the Cragars or replace them. I have Cragars. There were a few variations of this wheel by Cragar ;just as there were for the SS wheel. From the pic of his car it is hard to tell if the wheels are exactly the same.

actually the rims are not cragars they are einkies (?) and I had them re-done at the tune of 320.00 a each!! ( OUCH) but I guess that is what happens when you like what you got and you can't replace them!! I bet they didn't cost THAT much originally!!  lol :screwy:

well now that my computer is up and running again I will update you guys on my project!! The engine is complete and with some serious hunting I found the PERFECT air cleaner!! and OMG does it look great!! those aluminum heads and aluminum intake look great!! I can't wait to hear it!!  I had my DC valve covers anadized blue to match the car and they came out gorgeous!! but they are not on this picture you will have to wait and see those!!  the guy building the car says I am doing what you call a resto-mod instead of a restoration! because it sure isn't going to look stock under the hood when we get done!!

I figured that since the engine was already out it would probably be cheaper to have the engine compartment painted NOW then let them put the engine in and then have to pay someone else to remove it to paint the engine compartment. so now the task was to match to exterior paint!! I went to the place they get their paint and boy what a job!! TONS of paint samples and I am suppose to match it from what I REMEMBER my car looks like? yea right!! lol so back to the shop take off the trunk lid and return to the paint shop and pick a color I think matches as close as possible!! NOW the bad knews I pick the MOST EXPENSIVE BRAND in the shop wouldn't you know it!! just my luck!!
but I like it so we go with it!! then I return to my car a few days later only to find out it is a little darker and a whole lot more metalic then the exterior!! so NOW I need to paint the whole darn car which I hadn't planned on right now because the original color is a little yellower than the color I picked BUT.............. OMG it is beautiful and my car is gonna be georgeous!! again wait to find the money to finish it and get it back on the road!!  :hyper:   :clapping:

well here is a picture of the valve cover with the blue anodizing on it! it looks kind of crappy because the sun was blazing really bad when I took the picture so the blue look kind of really spotty. so you will have to trust me that they look really nice in person!!

They installed the engine so here is a picture of that!! the engine minus the air cleaner!! so now all that needs to be done is the vinyl top, the headliner, re-upholster the front seats and re-install the windshield the oh I forgot they still need to start the dang thing!! lol the it is out of this shop and over to the paint shop to get the body painted..... then home she comes!!!!!!! YEAH!!!!!!!!!!  Not a bit too soon for me!! it ran a little over budget but worth every penny(well $$'s) lol

Very cool, Bill!  Looks nice!

I used to have blue valve covers on an old 5th ave about 20 years ago.  Did a silver basecoat then a transparent blue.

You got the 100% correct   I can't wait to get it back on the road and driving again!!     it has been so long since I have been been behind the wheel of a chally that I can't wait for it to be done and this one is going to be FANTASTIC!!   :2thumbs:   a stroker with 400 hp!! omg it is going to be GREAT!! BUT the road conditions just aren't the same as they were the last time I was out there!! I could do 140 mph without batting an eye and now there are cops everywhere!! so I am gonna need to be VERY CAREFUL    or else I am going to be paying loads of tickets!!
thanks for the words of encouragements!!

Hi Bill,

Your engine looks dowm right sexy
Here is the formular for working out your engine capacity.
.7854 x Bore x Bore x Stroke x 8 = cubic inches

.7854 x 4.040 x 4.040 x 3.58 x 8 = 367ci

I remember you told me it was a 340 block, with a 360 crank correct ?

well there has been no new update because there has been nothing to tell because it has gone like usual..... WAY OVER BUDGET!! I finally got the money to get them to start working on her again so pretty soon there will be some more to post to keep you guys updated on the progress! I don't know if I told you but I have a ford shop doing the resto!! and when I paid him the rest of the money he told me " he can't wait to hear this baby run!!" later on in the day I thought I should have told him" oh you mean you want to know what a REAL CAR sounds like!!    but too bad I was a little slow on the whit! because that would have been a GREAT come back!! But even tho it is a ford shop they are doing a fantastic job!! (and I couldn't find a mopar shop close enough to me AND not over priced!!) Plus he really seemed to know what I wanted and they also work on other cars beside fords so I wasn't worried PLUS their mechanic use to build ALL the motors for a guy I grew up with and he put his seal of approval on this shop! so that was good enough for me! especially since he is a mechanic himself!!
