Gas Tank - Will this work?

I am thinking about ordering a new gas tank for my 73 cuda.  The original has the four vent pipes in the front going to the canister just above the tank.  All the other emissions stuff is gone.....

If I order a 1970 WITHOUT EEC Cuda tank that has only one vent pipe on the side will it still fit?  I plan on plugging that one vent on the side and the return line on the sending unit.  I will then run a vented gas cap.   Will this plan work?

I can't see why it would not work.

In fact I am planing on doing the same thing for my 74!

Haney - with the 70 tank you can then run the tank fuel pickup with the 3/8" fuel and 1/4" vent line attachments, use the orignal vent line and connect to the 1/4" line at the tank pickup for a recirc from a T fitting at the carb back to the tank. This will delete the vapor canister in the front as well. So that line would be connected up at the carb T-fitting. Restrict the return hole at the carb down to about 1/8" to prevent too much pressure drop and starvation of fuel to the carb. This will help with hot starts in the summer. I did all of this with my 451 stroked 73 chally and with the PSI guage shows 9PSI with the electric pump running, no engine and 6-7PSI with the engine running.

That was plan one until I found that someone had already hacked up the 1/4" return under the car.  I have a new 3/8 unit with 1/4 return nipple.  I also have a new 3/8 SST front to back fuel line, I just didn't want to spend the extra $90 for a new return line if I didn't have too.....

 I have no return line and a vented gas cap.
