where it comes up out of the main harness, parallel to the light blue with yellow. are there any other 12volt sources? I mean i'll figure this out, maybe i just need to make a better connection ..........  :banghead:

Since the splice have you checked the voltage with a meter?  This just should not be a problem, I'm still wondering if the problem is somewhere else. Could anything else have been effected?

Ok im definitely getting the same voltage as when i started out. about 11.10-11.20

i didnt unhook anything else, its just rediculous. The car won't stay running. it just keeps wanting to die.  :1zhelp:

Have you tried electrically disconnecting the choke from the circuit?  I guess to start the car you would have to manually manipulate your choke plate...... just brainstorming.   :-\

Thanks for thinking with me. Ive tried that, i just cant figure it out. At the time of start up, the choke is closed even with the wire ooked up b/c of spring tension. The car starts up now like it isnt choked, when it is.

Does the choke open a little immediately after start up?....On the OE setup a vacuum diaphragm pulls the choke open a smidge...if it didn't the engine would starve for air & die.

Yeah, it opens a little, i even unhook it and it still wont run right.  :popcorn: im gonna get some contact cleaner later on and mess with it. if that doesnt work, i'll open up my solder areas and check it out.

Does the choke ever open up all the way? Just sitting there with the key in the "on" position would do this. If it never opens up all the way, that's your problem.

This is what I would do... Disconnect the wire to the ballast resistor. Make a jumper wire to run from your battery + to the ballast. Start the car ...if the problems go away you know for sure it's in the wiring...if not you know your problems are elsewhere, ignition, carb.

  Yes jump a wire from the battery to isolate the rest of the circuit, 11 volts is to low in the real world, check your bulk head connector, the voltage at the positive terminal on the alternator and last but not least the voltage drop across the AMP guage. You should have at min. with engine not running 12.5volts, about 13.8 volts with engine running. I have had to change a few wires and terminals on my Challenger to achieve the desired voltages, and yes I have soldered every terminal that I can.

I bought some contact cleaner yesterday, i plan on wrenching after work. Its so nice out, i just want to drive!! im so impatient though, it all takes time....  :popcorn:
