Don't forget to disconnect the battery before you start spraying and brushing. :22yikes:

you know i was thinking, if i jump the 12volt, that will only solve half of the connection since there are 3 wires on the other side of the ballast resistor. Im hitting it hard after work so hopefully i report back with good news.  :cheers:

Well the jumper eliminates the supply side of the equation to the ignition.
Like I said IF there are other issues this will isolate them.  :thumbsup:

Hey wait a minute......... ok anyway, i messed around a little yesterday making better connections. No change!  :pullinghair: Im getting about 15volts with the car running so i dont think its that. I failed to mention that i changed out my ballast resistor plugs with a junk yard set so i would have longer wires to work with. could that be it?  :banghead: the car has a bad miss to it. I was thinking of changing these wires out and not using the plastic plugs for now just to figure it out. I stomped on it in front of the house (got the finger from a neighbor a few blocks down  :misbehaving: ) i got mine when the car died at the stop thing and then it really runs terrible, i have to keep my foot on the gas?!?!?!  :faint:

Are you sure you didn't do something to the carb when you installed the electric choke? The problem could still be an electrical issue though. I guess I narrowed it for you.   :misbehaving:

To make it even muckier, I would assume he took the carb off to put the electric choke on. If he now has a vacuum leak, that would explain why it won't stay running while in gear.   :dunno:

Ah, well i was careful and successfully installed it while on the car. I also had the choke assembly on there for a few weeks before i connected the wire. So, it ran fine until i opened this can of worms. does someone reproduce the ballast resistor 4 plug with wires connected???

i feel like a fool on this one, maybe i dropped a peice of electrical tape in the carb or something. i dont know anymore.

its so nice out, i hate to leave it parked for such a long time!  :working:

very frustrated.

Any chance that the wires are switched going to the ballast....I'm not sure what the outcome of doing this would be but I would assume not good.

well i dont figure that side to side would matter since theres a jumper with the dk blue and light blue yellow stripe

does anyone have a wiring diagram of this??

is there a difference between the 2 sides??
