I HAVE AN ORIGINAL SMALL BLOCK 727 TRANSMISSION.PART# 3640414,IT WAS IN A CAR DEAL I PURCHASED,I WAS TOLD IT WAS REBUILT,AFTER REMOVING THE PAN AND INSPECTING THE TRANSMISSION IT DOES APPEAR TO BE REBUILT,IT DOES HAVE A HOLE DRILLED IN THE TOP OF THE BELLHOUSING AREA.

That should be a van transmission. You set the timing through the hole.

Amanda.  Listen to Al.  He knows what he is talking about and was only trying to help.  Due to the way an engine sits in a van you cannot use a timing light on it like you can for a car.  Mopar put the hole in the transmission case so you could set the timming using the transmission.  To cool a converter you need to cool the fluid inside of it.  You do that with a transmission cooler.

Where did they come up with the part number?  It will fit the 273,318,340,or 360 engines.  It will work in a Challenger, Cuda, Road Runner, Charger, van, truck, etc.  The case lets us know it came from a van.  It originally had a plug that went in the timming hole.  Label it however you want or just leave it alone.   What I am seeing here is that they are not giving you the right information to post.  I can see it is not your fault.
