Boss just let me go today
« on: April 16, 2008 - 03:37:16 PM »
The writing was on the wall I was gonna be toast. and today was the day.

This company sucked anyway. Every quote I did was 15-30% too high. So I couldn't sell anything. He blamed me and I blamed them. No one to compare me against in the company.

Just kinda a bad time to be job hunting right now with the way things are everywhere.
Guess I have time to go fishing and work on my car for a while.

TC - sorry to hear that.  What were you doing?

Take a few days and enjoy life a little bit before you get back at it.  Good luck fishing and with the job search.

That bites, but definitely enjoy the time off.  Sounds like you were not that upset or surprised this.  I kind of wish someone would let me go, so I can have some relaxing time off. :dunno:
Your a good cat, so I know everything will work out!

Mfg. sales rep.
What I did was that I would track down buyers in major corporations. My targets were the electrical product related purchasing managers for companies throughout North America. Sometimes it would take me close to year to finally make contact with the right one. Build business relations, send our company info to them then follow up later and try to get a quote. Were talking really big quotes into the millions. The purchasing manager would send me blueprints and then I had to translate specs onto a excel spreadsheet to get costs. Then send them the quote back and try to haggle out a deal.

My now ex boss will find out what he lost. I was good at getting buyers found and getting quotes from. In fact, right before he fired me, I got 2 big quotes in 10 minutes prior. Everyone around me knew my day was coming and of course, I did too.
It was meant to be. I'm sure of it.

I'm ready to relocate if something comes along that fits.
If anyone needs a hunter phone salesman with tech, look me up.

Sorry to hear that. Go relax and enjoy life right now and next week start looking for a job. You can always try to sell car parts like some of us other people do.

Do you like farmed raised because you can't go after them this year. They shut down the season the entire west coast 'cept Seattle.

Knowing it was coming, it's a monkey off your back. Turn a negative into a positive. Take some time for yourself, then come back recharged. You're good at what you do and it'll show when it's time to enter back into the workforce

Well, I feel you pain. Literally . I have to say, though, that even though I'm going on three months without employment, I do think something is going to work out, and I'd say the same for you.

Mike,

This stinks even if you know it's coming. I feel bad for you. I was close at one time too.  :22yikes:

On a lighter note, I hear April needs some good help at her kennel.   :grinyes:
