Barry I'd love to but I would need to acquire the taste of Penguin. I guess I could learn to smoke it.

Don't feel bad, things are tough all over.I'm a MFG Rep as well, for 23 different manufacturers.I sell to wholesalers, anyway, got an email from the owner of our company monday.Pay reduction because commission dollars are way off with the slow housing market.I took a 10k a year pay decrease, everyone in our company got a reductions as well.I told him i wasn't complaining since it wasn't a pink slip and i can manage, lol.I just changed my SEP(retirement) from 15% to 5% and that should cover the loss. Not good, not sure if i will get another decrease if the economy doesn't get better.Atleast he did tell me i would be one of the last to go,if that ever happened, been with them since 94.

Good luck finding a new job, prayers are with you.If your looking to relocate to calif, dont bother, the economy here is crap as well.

Tell me about it I know. Not too far from you.

I forgot you were close.I have been talking to customers. They say the San Jose area is at least starting to show signs of recovery. Many contractors in the Fresno area are bidding jobs in the Bay,hopefully it will spill over soon.I think we need to pull our boys out of Iraq before we go bankrupt. Its going to go right back to were is was before we got there within a month.Anyone want to take that bet?
Have you looked into moving back east or Oregon? If push came to shove someday,i think i would sell everything and move to Oregon.Get the heck out of the land of fruits and nuts!lol

Somehow, that comment seems just a wee bit ironic coming from a guy calling himself moparnut?    :dunno:

Grants Pass is sweet area up there. Would love to be setting up shop there.

Moving is a definite possibility seriously considered. I'm living right on the Hayward fault and it's a time bomb. I wanna get out before it goes off. They're predicting up to an 8 or a 9 richter from it.

I know what you mean,Our office was on Whipple road before we moved.I would always get nervous driving in the Bay.Especially because of the big quake,I drove across the bay bridge 2 hours before it hit and was in Los Banos driving home when it happened.

TC...Hang tight, another opportunity is waiting around the next bend... Seems like half this town, at least the half I know, are either electronics component reps or working for the companies that buy from them.... Conversation at the 19th hole is about pending million+ deals or lost million+deals, looking to change employer or looking for new employee's. Krazy business to be in IMO.

Good Luck

When one door closes another door opens.  Stay positive, relax, and smoke a bag of M&M's.   :smilielol:
