Dixco Hood Tach--- Anyone doing Repros?
« on: April 16, 2008 - 03:52:21 PM »
It seems the NOS pieces are going for big $$$---Is any company reproducing these? I have an old Direct Connection brochure that lists it as a dealer-installed option for about $58. Would like to find a source for less than a house payment.

Thanks In Advance

I wish!  I've always wanted a hood tach.  "Direct Connection" and/or "Hustle Stuff" had one too, with the little Chrysler logo on it.

There is a universal style one on eBay:

I bought one of those.  It is nice, not exactly like the original, but good enough for me, and alot cheaper.  I plan on putting it on when I finish up the hood.... whenever that is.

I have been searching for a long time and asking many people if they know of anyone thinking of doing a reproduction of the dixco tachs.  I have two originals of these myself but they both will need repair before i can use them, and i will be using them. i really like the look of them on a Barracuda or Challenger. :2thumbs:

Can you post a picture of them? I've never seen the dixco hood tachs, and I wonder how they look vs. the GM ones.

Here's pics I took of mine for a buddy. This may be the one valuable thing I own for my car

The universal one on e-bay looks like the OEM one for a Buick GS and not the same size or shape of the Mopar one. IMO.

:iagree:
It looks just like the one on my 69 GTO except for some printing.
I think the hood tachs are pretty fun, and might consider one for my car if they reproduced them.
