WORK COMPLETED THIS WEEK
« on: April 16, 2008 - 06:10:04 PM »
I remember that we all used to post weekly about any work we completed, along with pictures.  We haven't done that in a while and was wondering if you guys wanted to start that up again.  Hopefully next week I should have something to add to it as well, if time allows.

Hey moderator,

This was an ongoing thread in the off-topic section.   :poopoke:

It sounds good though. I installed a battery disconnect terminal today.  Big whoop.      :lol2:

I think the thread quit because we started the members restoration area and everyone started their own threads.  I think its great that you can go there and watch someones car come together over 10 pages of replys.  Just watching the progress on some of these cars is amazing in itself.   :worshippy

Sometime during the week I picked up a crazy '55 Olds engine that was bored and stroked, forged crank, pop-up pistons, roller cam, aluminum rods.  Crazy stuff for an old ass engine!  I think I have to build another hot rod just because I found it....   :-\

My hot rod car club did another plaque casting session on Saturday.  Pretty intense stuff there, heating and pouring 1200 degree molten aluminum.  Not bad for a bunch of hooligans!!   :smokin:

Other than that, I started making "Shaker feet" for my set up, ordered some more parts for it.  On the 26th we're trying to get a group out to Sacramento Raceway, get some timeslips for our cars.

If you want, you can check it out on the "Current Stuff" section of my webpage:   http://www.waywardgarage.com

OK Mr. PITA (Maybe a new name for you)...When I first joined cc.com we always used to have a thread weekly titled (for example) Work Completed w/e 4/12/08.  Maybe someone should go back a few years and look  :poopoke:  :stirpot:  :poopoke:

Very true 4C.  I actually thought about that AFTER I posted this thread.  I figured MEK would have been the one to say what you said, lol.

When I go back and look at my thread in the "members restoration" section, and see that 99% of my progress pics are gone it tends to dull the motivation to post anymore updates  :stomp:
Also the fact that I have nothing to put up for an update tends to numb the senses to a point that slowly decays your will to move forward  :walkaway:

Although I did buy a Lincoln mig welder today (110) since I am not able to use the 220 I partially bought down my house  :swaying:

Great job by the way CHUCKS  :clapping:  :2thumbs:

I actually did put up a post last week, first time out on the car in a month or so, but no pics, just messed with electrical stuff. Mine actually ended up in the classics section, I guess I am that old, or have taken tooo long to get the dang car done hmmmmm it's not exactly done, but I can move it around under it's own power now. :naughty:  i do check on peoples progress as time allows, lots of intense work goes into these cars. :2thumbs: Rich.
