Going shopping
« on: April 17, 2008 - 01:10:32 AM »
Hey all,

This weekend, the Ecology Auto Parts (think Pick-a-Part) is offering 50% off on all parts, so I'm going shopping for a few junkyard finds for my car - some good seats, mostly, but anything else I can find that's useful.  If there's anything anyone is looking for that I might be able to help you out with, send me a PM and I'll take a list and keep a lookout. Frankly, being so close to Mexico, a lot of old cars are scavenged quickly (B-bodies made really good taxis through the mid-90's.)  But since cars tend to last a little longer here in sunny San Diego, there may be some older iron still in the yard. No profit - I'll send it for whatever it costs me plus shipping to help out my CC.com friends.

Thanks MUCH for the offer.   :2thumbs:   To bad I don't have anything going on now so I cannot take you up on it.

I remember going there in 87 and they had a couple of cool things to pick from. Unfortunately I was not into Challengers yet, so I did not know what I was missing.

Wish I could be there with you.

Take some pics when you get a chance.-

Well, it's a good thing nobody except HemiKen wanted anything, 'cause there wasn't much to get.  Mopar-wise, there were only two things of real interest - a '75 Stepside pickup 4WD with a 383 (346 heads), which was the only big-block in the yard and a well-picked over '73 Duster with a 318 and absolutely NO RUST!!!  I t just kills me to think that it's going to the crusher - it would make a great cruiser or drag car.   :swear: :stomp:  I took a photo of it, but they made me delete it when I took a photo of the pile of cars below.  They made me delete that too, but I snuck another one in the truck.   :naughty:

I ended up buying only two 15" steelies to match the ones on the front of my car with semi-decent tires and some seats out of a '91 Probe.  Now I just have to figure out how I'm going to mount the seats. :clueless:
