70 hemi cuda story fresh from yesterday (local)
« on: April 19, 2008 - 11:22:56 AM »
So this glass shop 3 miles from me is where I buy my windshields from. I stopped in to see about rear and side glass. The owner was there. They came and installed my barracuda windshield in my car for a total of 125 installed and delivered. I thought...very cool

Then the owner tells me the old story we have all heard about a 70 hemi cuda he was finally getting a chance to buy. He said it has taken him 20 years to convince the guy yadda yadda.

It suposed to have 17 miles on the car, bought local, the guys son goes to nam and has been missing in action. Said the dad has the car in his barn and has never been outside the barn since 1970, with nothing touched.

I tend to not believe him, but he did seem to know some about mopars, and claims he will be owning it within a month or so....we will see...but I wont hold my breath. I even told him that. Then he claims he has been to the car a dozen times and has made friends with the dad.... Yeah yeah, I said I will believe it when I see it.  :dunno:

Hey, you never know..
There are some people out their that may have something...
Good Luck, hope it works out for you....

My brother's friend has a original '69 Copo Camaro Blue on Blue, got it or I should say he won it in a raffle back in 1969 when he was in Nam also...

Still has it and still looks new from what I understand and the best thing he didn't change a thing on it.
Next time I go to my brother's I may have to stop in and take some photos....

Ya just a couple weeks ago and old timer from Church told me his son has a 70 Cuda sitting in a barn ready to restore.I asked him to check if he would sell it since his son lives several states away.He got back to me and his son said "you dont have enough money to buy it"He said its got a a numbers 318,Big Whoooop".I would pass on it anyway(not to bash the 318)just cost too much to restore/value and from the sound he would want 4 times whats it worth.

Most amazing part of the story is you got a windshield installed for $125!  WOW, great deal!

As I said, I am skepital, but the glass shop is right down the road, so if there is any truth to this, it will be known fast. He in my eyes is already marked as a flipper.
