I started out with a 12" drop in the front and 5" in the back.  This was way too bottom heavy, so I move the front to 8" and because of the way I built the rear, I could not lower it any more.  It is still a little bottom heavy, but quite good.  I can move it to about 60 to 70 degrees with very little effort, and just use one foot on the cross bar to push it the rest of the way to 90 degrees.  If I could drop the rear to about 2" to 3", I am sure it would be much better.

I took a guess at it and it feels a little bottom heavy so I will screw with it later. Thanks Chuck

My avatar shows mine and I can spin it by myself. The rotate center is mid radiator in the front and bumper level in the rear. To get it to go 90 degrees I have to use my foot on the cross bar a little bit. That's as close as I could get it with the mounts I had and it is fine. A hardtop would probably be perfect. I had to keep lowering the mounts to get it to pendulum just right. I had more room in the front, but ran out of holes in the rear. is your rotisserie adjustable or are you trying to make one right on the first time?

Yeah I ran out of room in the rear to but I can still lower the front so I will try to make the front closer to the center of the radiator.
 Thanks Chuck

Your centers need to be inline with each other. The "T bar" part is what will go up and down on each end to get the balance right. I ended up making some 90 degree brackets on the rear to help get that extra few inches. I'll see if I can get some bigger pictures to put up and show you.

I took the breakline in the bodypanels as startingpoint. The rotatecentre is in the middle of the line. but my car is a cuda...
It is a little bottomheavy but I can turn it pretty easy, just to get it upside down I have to use the foot a little. with the doors, fenders and glass in it swings around like a balletdanser

If I were to drop the back 3 more inches it would be abount on-center with the rear mount and even with the front.  Mine spins pretty good right now, but I am sure with the rear lowered it would be very easy to turn.

A few better pictures. The rear mount would balance even better if it was a few inches lower, but I didn't feel good about welding up a pedestal type mount myself to put it even lower. Any way you do it the stands on ech end need to have their rotational centers at the same height or you will be putting the car into a bind or twist when rotating. Pretty easy to keep them the same if there are holes to space it.

I thought about making a rotisserie, never thought about the body wanting to collapse or bend on the convertables, just as well you put those supports in the door jam area.   :2thumbs:
