Help get STR 12 crossrams remade for small blocks
« on: April 19, 2008 - 11:10:00 PM »
We are trying to get Edelbrock to remake a limited number of STR-12 crossrams for small block Mopars. They still have the molds and are considering it, but are looking for enough demand to justify remaking them.
Here's the post from another Mopar forum http://www.forabodiesonly.com/mopar/showthread.php?t=33816
So if your interested in buying or just want to help some fellow mopar owners get the ball rolling please E-mail
Edelbrock at sales@edelbrock.com
I've already sent my E-mail to edelbrock letting them know if they decide to remake a limited number of them, I WILL buy one. Sure there are better intakes out now, but with all the nostalgia craze going on with Muscle cars and rat rods these peg to coolness meter big time! makes a small block look like a baby max wedge.

Thanks everyone.

That's a goodlooking intake! How would it perform vs an Six Pack or the Air-Gap?

Would really start to boogie once the rev's got going, a little slower down low, the 6 pak and air gap would give better low down torque.

I have a big block version of this intake.  It has 3 tops; single 4 bbl, 2 4 bbl and 6 pack.  Was the small block offered the same way?

I have the STR-14 Crossram same as this STR-12.  The STR-12 was only available in this configuration, the STR-14 had two different bases.  The crossram base with crossram lid and the other base to accomodate single two barrel, single spreadbore, single dominator, duel quad inline, and six pack. :2thumbs:

I didn't know that.  It came on my 6 pack Challenger with the three twos on it.  It worked great and looks great on there.  I was given the other two tops and the original intake with the car.  I am going to leave the STR-14 on it.  It will look like a day 2 restoration along with the headers.

Thanks for the info.  Mine is like the one on the bottom.  It looks great with the 3 2's.  It is too buried to get a pic.

Hi Guys,

This is the reply i just got back from Edelbrock.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Kenny,

The STR-12 manifold will not be produced. This idea has been tossed around the entire company in the past few years, but will not be made for a number of reasons.

For all replies please include the ORIGINAL Email.

Thanks - Chris Rowe, Edelbrock Tech Dept.

Perhaps you could phone them direct and tell them you have people wanting the item who have been forwarding e-mails on but they are getting rejected.  You are more than welcome to use my e-mail as a reference, i did state i was in Australia, but this should not have any negative bearing on the case. :2thumbs:
