have 70 challenger rt 383 auto black on black white tail stipe, hard top, { no vinyl top} but has se door panels but some one might have added those, ,,i read somewhere that they only came with vinyl top cars,any way to look up how many they made 70 rt challenger 383 auto blk/blk thank you

I'm not sure anyone is going to have the answer for you . . Chrysler didn't keep track of some things very well back in the day.   :dunno:

Yup, as 4C said the records from Chrysler don't exist as far as I'm aware. From memory, they were all burnt in a fire or something like that. Anyhow, the only true way to find out is to have all 1970 Dodge Challengers with 383s that were ever made, park in a massive field and then go through and put them in groups.  :2cents:

Chrysler did not do their record keeping that would allow anyone to determine how many black on black cars were made. You can tell how many cars were painted black, and how many cars had black interiors, but you can't find out how many came with both.

As for your door panels, if you are referring to the carpeted lower door panels, those come on any Challenger with leather or cloth seats.

Another thing that seems to have happened with colors is that some colors show up more on different models.  For instance it seems that the Challenger S/E's had more of the full size luxury car colors than the R/T's did.  Bottom line there is no way to know.
