Tony, That really $ucks. I know what a stand up guy you are. I saw what outstanding work you do. I wish I could help. I hope everything works out.  That was a really sneaky move on that guys part. Pick up the car, write a check, then stop payment. It's too bad that you still don't have the car. I hope you can place a mechanic's lien on his car.
Sneaky??Your too nice, lol.Tell it like it is!He's a low down dirty dog that should have been culled at birth,How's that?LOL
Sorry hard a rough day too and needed to vent.I can't stand dishonest people

Whatever you do don't let that check get away..... HE has passed a bad check & that is against the law, at least where I come from.

I am sorry to hear about that Tony.  I agree with 4Cruizn, your lawyer sounds high.  I would search for a few others.
Good luck with the situation.

Man that sucks mate, this must really be hurting. All I can say is if you did everything by the book and did everything correctly from start to finish you don't have anything to worry about. Let him take you too court, his time and money. Almost sounds like you could flick this around and claim him for not following through with his contract.

Can you please explain exactly what he didn't like or why he's doing this? Is he claiming you "passed" the car off as a Unique Performance car which is what he thought he was getting, then he found out it's not? That's what I read anyhow. All the best with it mate, such a shame in today's twisted world that someone could come and do it to someones passion, their hobby, their life. He neds a good smack in the chops by the sounds of it.

Hang in their mate.

Small Claims court can provide a quick inexpensive way of resolving many types of disputes you may have with particular individuals or companies.  Looks like Ohio has a $3,000.00 limit.  Hope you get this resolved in your favor.

Hey Tony
I have been working on a Chall for a top criminal Lawyer , we have been converting it to a 426 Hemi VP clone Pat Fagan is his name , You could contact him , he might just take this guy apart just over a love of Mopars . His # is 403-517-1777, you can mention me but I have never actually met him so you need to refer to his white 70 Hemi Chall & me helping work on it

As a body shop owner, you may be able to take out a "mechanical lien" on the car. If he ever tries to sell it, the money owed to you goes to you FIRST as part of the sale.

I had to put a lien on a building once, I had all my money back with intrest within 90 days.  They were trying to get a loan againt it at the time for a major renovation, the bank stopped them cold until I was paid.

I filed the papers the day the loan was supposed to close, I got lucky.  :naughty:

Tony,

Hope all works out in your favor. Really sorry that you had to deal with a ^$*$$#%^#@&%^ like that. Scammers really get my blood boiling. Let us know if there is anything else that we can do. If you need, i am sure that many here could write character statements or something.

This sux's,   :villagers:  as a repair business manager I feel for you, writing then cancelling a check is fraud. Solicitors tend to charge excessively, there must be someone you can turn to, don't let it get to you.
