Part of the dicrepancies in weight on older titles is they used dry weight figures. When you leave out all the gas, water, oil, trans grease, rear end grease, battery, brake fluid etc, it does make a few pounds. Still, they just plain listed some of them wrong. My new '70 Cuda w/ 383 & man trans, no PS, PB, AC etc listed 3404. I had a new '71 Fury 2 dr w/ 318, AT, AC, etc that was lsited at 3860. I later traded it for a '72 Dodge Polara 2 dr HT w/ 400 w, AC etc, a somewhat longer car, that was titled 3650 I think. If anything at all, the Polara should have out weighed the Fury by at least 400 lbs, & I think the 3860 was probably about right for the Fury. So yes, you are correct in that factory listed weights are frequently incorrect. Ovmf
