Today, while working/grinding on my car, I stepped outside from the backyard.
Lo and behold, there was Mr. Sheriff sitting in his car just 50 feet away under the tree, in the shade, before the intersection.

So he was there for only a few possible reasons:
1. He was taking decibel readings. She complained again?
2. He was just waiting for a stop sign runner. (There's an island, pretty hard to run around it)
3. He just bought a dozen dounuts.

As soon as the gardeners showed up and turned on their noise, he left.

Coincidence?

I vote for #3 - donuts (a Homer sized box). :smilielol: I would have waved at the cop.
If he was there for your noise then he should come say so, get it done, no need to play hide & seek. :smokin:

This is pissing me off and its not even my house. Next time would just approach the guy and ask wtf. If her hired help make more noise than you do with regards to yardwork I think you should go have a "talk" with her. Might do the old bag some good it you turned it around on her and showed her how it feels to get hassled.

I'm guessing miss high or mighty has a clean yard? Is there anything you can hassle her over to do? Ie: clean up her yard, remove something, clean up dog shlt from her and the councils lawn, stop being retarded? Sure does suck. I know what, put real estate brochures in her mail box everyday, she'll soon get the point lol.

Next time you see Mr. Sheriff, ask him if everything is okay. Most cops are good guys, and if he is there because of a complaint, he'll porbably tell you "Off the record". By showing some interest, you'll show him that you are not some lowlife that is causing trouble. You can also then discuss the situation with him, and show him what you have done to minimize noise, and all of the steps you have taken to appease the neighbor. Take him in and show him the car. Turn on the charm and get him on your side. Once he is satisfied, he'll pretty much ignore her calls, if that is why he is there. All cops have to deal with her kind of prissy whiners, and they hate it.

Get that cheap decible meter and take readings whenever her gardeners start making noise. Get a friend to go to the edge of her property and take readings whenever you are working on the car. Log everything. If the readings are reasonable, use them in your defense when the time comes. If you find that your readings really do exceed the guidelines, just keep trying to find a way to get them a little lower.

Topcat you are a better man than me I would have probably lost it and made things worse if it was me.  I agree with jerst.  Have a talk with the sherriff see if there is a way around this and keep hanging in there.

:iagree: I would have talked to the sheriff, may have been there for an unreleated reason. Next time catch him before he takes off.

Yeah, I should've gone up and spoke with him. Wasn't thinking about confronting the situation at all. I was doing the spot welds at the time so my timing was perfect when he showed up unexpectedly. Been putting off the decibel reader. Not anymore,...gotta get it.

People are just looking for a reason to complain nowadays.  I thought my neighbor was going to say something about me revving my new motor up a bit and He showed interest instead, there were a few ways Your neighbor could have handled it and She picked the wrong way.  My neigbor even lauged when I did a little burnout in the yard.  He has a big beast house worth like 1+mil, mine is a pool house compared to his.LOL

Tom

But my yard is bigger.LOL
