I'm pretty sure that the rotisserie is in his backyard, not his driveway...

Yes that is correct. No sight of it whatsoever from public view.

I think this is the core of the issue and she is just using the noise as a means to attack you because she doesn't want to see your junk out front. I've seen rotisseries in garages before. No way you can get it in there?

Once inside the garage, then the whole noise issue changes gears.

The db meter does give you a leg to stand on. Don't know what it would cost to get one of those. The sock on the tool idea has some merit.

I tried the sock today. It seemed to help a little. The problem was try to keep it on without it slipping off. I took some mig wire and tightened it overtwined and twisted to secure it. I admit I really didn't get over zealous on how well it was put on.

Also, kept the speed down. That seemed to keep the noise in check most of all. Neither her or the cops showed up today so that's a good thing. I'm going to give it a rest this Saturday and not work on the car. Maybe that'll help cool her off some too. Start looking for the decibel reader also.

Do your neighbors use power equipment like lawn mowers, weed wackers or anything?I would get that DB meter and check out to see what kind of niose lawn equipment or any other home power tools like skill saws and such make as a comparison.

Torred! You nailed it. Spoken like an attorney to be! That is a great point. Any time anyone is out there doing yard work. Break out the grinders!!!

Not sure of your town but here in Fargo there is a law that says you cannot work on your car in the open. If it's in the garage there is no problem. I don't think it's enforced unless someone complaines.

<checking Fremont, CA. off my "places to live" list>

I think you should put up big speakers outside & crank the tunes to cover up any grinder noise. Make it classical music tunes. :smilielol:

 :roflsmiley:

it just really bugs me when people are so miserable that they have to bring others down. Its like a guy a work right now, he's totally worthless, and now he's accused a manager of prejuduce and states that work is a "hostile" environment.

She's probably a "green" person. You know all the hype going on...green this and green that.
When she first came over whining the first time, she asked me if I was going to paint it there. Of course I said no.
And I wouldn't anyway. Too much dust and pollen around here.

Put it this way...everybody in this area shops at upscale supermarkets named Lunardi's or Whole Foods.

I'd just play Metallica's: "SO WHAT" song, that should keep the peace. :grinno: :naughty: Not sure what our limits are around here, neighbours are cool, I even did a burnout drunk in my own driveway for a good 2-3 minutes once in an old Ford V8 and no one did anything lol. Guess they are use to all the V8s starting up everyday + they know I'm a hoon. ;D Keep us posted TC.

I have dealt with people like that before. Came from LI NY. Lots of that type up there. Gotta say one thing that will make them flip is if you don't acknowledge they are there. I mean look straight through them. If they call your name don't even flinch. People like that are not used to having no effect on others. They thrive on making other people have to live around them. If your in the right and there is nothing they can do about it, see how many times they waste their breath on you knowing they won't even get a reaction.
Just a thought.
