Still more of the same , just waiting for my mechanic to get a couple of days free from other customer cars and we can get the torque converter changed . I talked with him today and he said he would get it this week  :roflsmiley: like we haven't heard that before!!
I have missed the important car shows so far this year, should have started earlier.
I would have loved to made it to Carlisle this year but we will be there next.

 Til next week... :banghead:

Well my mechanic called last night and he has the converter changed. :woohoo:
I am going to pick up a new battery today and go by his shop tonight and drive the Challenger for the first round of break in for the new  sure grip and the new 3.55 gears. Unless it is raining!!!
If it isn't raining I will have pics to follow shortly
After that the mechanical work is done and then I can pick it up later this week to take to the paint and body shop.

Until next time...

Another bump in the road.....First thing is the converter was marked wrong from the factory instead of 2200-2800 stall I got a 2800-3200 stall. I like the higher stall and my cam likes it also so I am staying with it for now.
Second the flex plate has to be changed . Have one on order now.
One word of warning, Make sure you buy a new flex plate , don't trust an old one that you can't confirm  being strong enough or that you don't know the true age.
Until next time....

Well guys the news is much better this time. The mechanic is finished with the car and I will be going tomorrow to take it to the paint and body  guy. No trailer this time , I get to drive it over.
An update from the last post , I told my mechanic to use back the flex plate that was in the car. It started to come apart and had already broken up a bit when got the car shut off. No damage other than the flex plate itself . I have a Mopar Performance P4876821  flexplate in the car now.
Shoulda known better..... :banghead:
Pics to follow tomorrow  of the move to the body shop and then body shop photos for a while until she gets paint... :picture: :droolingbounce:

I moved the car to the body shop today. I got to drive it for the first time since all of the mechanical work and it is a beast. Plus I was followed to the shop by my wife and she was driving my new Hemi Ram. :burnout: :burnout: :droolingbounce:
I passed a house and the guy was out mowing the grass and as we went by you could see him and he looked like this :eek2:
But by the way he was looking he had heard me coming long before he saw me and the Challenger.

Nothing going on at the body shop as of yet. He has been on vacation for two weeks and needs to get caught up on insurance work cars right now. This is a one man operation so I see this being a drawn out saga over the winter.
