Well, the car is finally in the shop and getting  some work done to it. :droolingbounce:
I am going tomorrow evening to take the new sheet metal  over so my body man can start hanging it. Its so hard to believe the day is finally here that we get to start seeing what a beauty she will finally turn into.
Progress is going to be a bit slow as I have told him that he has until next march to get it done, to give me a couple of months to finish my work on the interior.

Well things are progressing nicely at the body shop. Doors have been rehung and the rear valance has been installed. The fenders and hood are on the car just needing final alignements. The passenger door is giving my bodyman fits  trying to get the gaps to match.  I have located the chrome for the vinyl top.  I am going back over to check on the progress on Friday and I will bring back pictures then. My body man is taking lots of pictures also and plans to give me a picture album showing the progress from start to final paint and trim.   Until next time..... :bigshades:

Work is still progressing and still finding  lots of problems that the previous owner has created. There are two thumbnail size dents in the passenger side door that he felt the need to cover the complete door skin with bondo to fill in the dents. And the welds where he attached the quarter panels are hideous.  The welds were not grinded flat but with bondo they were just covered up.My body man is taking the sheetmetal down to bare metal so we are finding and fixing the problems. Also when the quarters were welded into place I don't think the previous owner thought about spacing them because we have had to cut the welds loose to get the rear valance panel into the correct position. The space between the quarters was two inches less than the length of the valance panel.
Well until next time ......

Well I visited my car today, not much has changed since last week.
I was able to get a couple of pics of some of the most hideous sheetmetal work that i have seen.I need to say that the work was done by the previous owner and not my bodyman.
Here are the pics and he had tried to hide them with body filler and lots of it.

For any of you that read Super Chevy magazine, my bodyman has a car in the december issue that he did the bodywork and painted. It is a 70 Chevelle, blue with black stripes. Take a look and I will get a picture scanned when I get a copy

That is exactly what it looks like plus it looks like he has used a brazing rod in places also :dunno:
Looks like we will be removing the interior to get to the back side of that mess to do a bit of straightening also.
