Definitely ugly metal work. FYI if you don't know, if a brazing rod was used you're stuck with brazing, you won't have any luck welding over it otherwise.

Well I was at the garage today visiting my car and things are going good. We are still waiting on chrome trim for the vinyl top before we go much farther. As soon as it gets in we will be planning more of the finish and can get on with getting the body stripped to metal. After that I have a guy lined up to replace the windsheild and rear glass.
Until next week.....

Wellits time for another update. The work is progressing slowly andI I don't see getting my car back before early august . Mopar Thunder at Bristol Tennessee is scheduled for labor day weekend so I am now hoping to make that show. Miy car has now been gone a year between the mechanic and the body shop. We have had a lot of issues to fix from the previous owner but they are getting less numerous so I can finally se the end of this project unless my bodyman has another major fit like he had late last year.I would go by and check on the progress , nothing was getting done and he would say he just wasn't feeling like  he could go anything productive.

Hey guys, I'm back. I had to take a while away from here and gather my thoughts. It wasn't anything to do with anyone , I just got extremly disgusted with the progress that had been done to my car. It was getting to me to come here and look at the pics of all of the nice rides. Now for the good part of this post, WE HAVE PROGRESS!!!!!!  Body work is almost done and I have finally seen my car with primer!!!! :droolingbounce:
Look at the pics below, I feel like a kid at christmas. I am going to be a basket case when it gets color.

Yes the vinyl goes on before the paint. I questioned this also but my body and paint guy wants to do it this way. Plus the guy I hired to install the vinyl wants to adhere the vinyl to primer not the paint. I hope that they are right :dunno:

Hmmmm

Primer actually absorbs moisture over time. This is why so many vinyl top cars got rusty under the vinyl. Chrysler put little if any paint on the roofs before installing the tops. You might want to call Legendary or someone else who installs vinyl tops for a second opinion.
