Call it my two week project..... :bricks1:

I took my car to my friends shop and we have been replacing the trunk pan, dutchman panel, and filling in the roof line seams.  We are now getting ready to paint it flat black this weekend.

He are some pics of the progress......

Bringing a buddy over to try to diagnose the problems with my car and see if we can't get it to run.

Cleaning up and re-installing some interior panels - unless I get too bogged down with yardwork.  Spring has sprung in San Diego and my yard is looking like a jungle.

How hard was replacing your trunk pan?  I'm fairly handy, but other than pre-paint prep work and some rust grinding & treating I've never patched or replaced a panel and I'm thinking about trying to replace the Barracuda's trunk as a first true body project.  Do you think this is something a bodywork 'novice' could do & do correctly?

Thanks, Jim

I went out and kicked the quarter panel. More rust fell out.  Went back home.  It's hard to get motivated when it snowed yesterday and last night.

My two week, nights and weekends odyssey to eliminate rust has finally come to an end.   :jumping:

I replaced the trunk panel, Dutchman panel, rear quarter extension, fixed the rust in the passenger rear quarter panel and on the passenger door and filled in the roof seams.  I also ruffed in most of the body work, as the car will be totally striped of paint, (when I get that far) and sprayed with flat black, some call it “Hot Rod” black.

So now she is all one color, at least on the outside.

I will start putting all the trim, wheels and tires and interior back in when I get back from vacation.

Here are some pics…….
