Fixed an exhaust leak, have you ever tried welding on 40 year old rusted exhuast pipe... :banghead:  :banghead:  Lots of splattering and the weld looks like a pile of dog-doo....but no more cracked and leaking pipe.... :clapping:

40 YEAR OLD EXHAUST PIPE?????? WOW never even heard of such a thing , never mind seeing one? LOL I'm in Canada   ie road salt......5 years at best on steel exhaust systems driven in the winter

IT'S ALIVE !!

2 1/2 Years and the 5.7 finally fired.  A minor electrical problem and small fuel leak at the pressure guage and it started and idled right out of the box.

:swaying: :jumping:   friends and neighbours came over to celebrate.

Thanks to everyone who helped

Unfortunately the camera crapped out for the first start, but was revived for the first drive.

Spent Saturday doing enough engine assembly to seal it up and packing my parts into the car in preparation to ship it, pending completion of the sale.  :walkaway:

Racing @ Infineon July 3.
The 4.30 axle is back in with .010 back play. Wired the fuel pump direct to the battery. Hopped up the distributor with .370 advance slots and two 5 gram each, Mopar Perf. springs.with no vac. advance.
Stock rocker arms and new lifter and push rod to replace the one that bent last month. Hopefully the 440 car runs in the 12's like the 340 did with 4.30's. :horse:

Working on restoring my grill.   Tomorrow my buddy who does paintless dent repair is going to take out a few small wrinkles on the "tool shelf"  :nono:   Then I can cler the polished aluminum, let it hang for a few days then shoot the SEM trim black.

I'm hoping to rebuild the door hinges and swap doors on the 70 Challenger, and if I have enough time (will be spending most of the weekend working on my wife's 53 pickup) I will weld on the front clip.

Replaced the upper ball joints on the Challenger yesterday, didn't have a 3/4 drive for the socket so I used a  pipe wrench instead (wasn't going to spend 20+$ on a breaker bar) worked fine, although I wouldn't  advise  anyone to do it that way. ;-)
Thinking about doing the lowers but domestic duties will be in order instead.

The Gas Gauge was below 1/8 of a tank so it was time to fill it up and go for a cruise.

Replaced the fan clutch assembly in the Challenger with a new Viscous set up, wiped it down, and installed my new Decal on the Air cleaner.

Oh and drove it to Carlisle PA, 450+miles and plenty of gas! :burnout:

having a sweet time, not looking forward to going back to work though.LOL
