I got my rally hood installed. I got it used off CL for a very good price because it did not fit the other guys car.   It had a 1" high crown on the pass side.  I rigged up some clamps and a board and clamped it back into position.  It took a few tries but I got it very good.   I also had to get some different bolts for the hinge.  I picked those up at Kragen.  NAPA didn't have them.   I have a set of original scoops I stripped down and fit.  So the hood is flat black with bare metal scoops.

I may add the D O D G E letters, and I may add 340 callouts.   I have a 318 in there now but I am building the 340.  What to do 340 SIX PAK or 4 BBL.

Today I got under the car and fixed my kickdown linkage.  It always amazes me how crappy some of the parts are on these cars.  The lever coming off the rod was buggered up.  Just a piece of crap. I had to fix it up a bit and install the lever properly.  It was not installed all the way onto the shaft and was over tightened.    Now I have kickdown and the car shifts in the right places.  Overall the car drives so much better now.

Then I swapped tires around.  I have 2 types of tires slightyl different and the shop it was in before I got it put the tires on the wrong positions.  I also put new lug nuts and unilug washers on the front wheels.

Next week I will install the shift kit, and the the improved gasket then fill with some fresh fluid.  I also need to replace the neutral safety switch.  It's barely hanging on causing me some trouble.

I'm a little late since I've been really busy this week but last weekend I finally finished my sound deadener. It's a tedious job but it should make a big difference when back on the road.

Gonna try to figure out why it won't start and get it going.  We still have temps in the 50's & 60's and no snow or salt.  It may have had enough cruising time for this year but I haven't.

Taking advantage of probably one of the last weekends in the 60's before winter hits and cruising in the South Jersey Pinelands on Sunday with a 10 mopar caravan.

Removed about 10' of electrical tape from the taillight wiring harness.  Straightened out the wiring, soldered and shrink tubed the splices.  Replaced a few bulbs, tested, cleaned and checked everything and got it wired up properly.   Now I have properly functioning taillights.

Cleaned the connections and attached the neutral safety switch plug with a dab of silicone.  Hopefully I should have a start in Park every time now.

After replacing the water pump I crawled around getting numbers off parts...

Block# 418496*1*360
rear end is a 2070741  8 3/4
and the noise is coming from a set of Flowmaster Series 10 Delta Force cigar boxes..  man those things are LOUD.   :22yikes:

Off the jack stands Sunday for a drive (if the rain stops).

I spent the better part of the weekend cleaning up and painting the front end.  I pulled the bumper, valance, and grille and repainted them.  The Totally Auto dark argent paint went on great and looks great too.  I painted the bumper semi gloss black as well.  I also installed the Red Bars.

So,

I went from this.....

To this.....

Plus, I had to deal with this.  :swear:  I put a hole in it with then ratchet.  :bricks1:

I removed the rust from the cowl Drains then treated the bare metal with permatex rust treatment.  This week I need to pull the rear window and repair any rust that may be present.  Then I will reinstall the window. Once that is leak free I can strip the undercoating from the inside of the trunk so I can get at the surface rust then prep prime and paint.

Loaded the R/T and all of the parts onto the trailer and into the truck.  pickup is overloaded so will have to leave some of the tools and parts in the garage at the house for the trip with the Uhaul.  Will be in South Florida by Thursday so hopefully I will be pulling it into a new shop this weekend
