    picked up my cherry picker from dads place yesterday, moving things around so I can get at my fully assembled 400 and start pulling accessories off, draining oil, etc for engine disassembly. looks like I am finally gonna put a motor together and get this damn thing finished!

    Well if the raim hold off I'm taking the Snot Rod out for it's maiden vovage with the new motor, tranny and rear end! Hope nothing falls off or blows up! :swaying:

    The ground is good on the water pump housing.  Finally got the gauge working but it sits way low... I think the new thermostat I put in might be jammed or stuck open.  Looks like I'll be getting a new one

    Installed the rear Cuda surround trim today. Was kinda tricky and took longer than I anticipated.
    Looks killer now.

    Oh yeah, a few other things underway...
    Guages were sent out to Hayward Auto Instruments for the worm gear to be replaced and the guages checked out.

    Top of the door trim goes out this upcoming week to be anodized.

    Rear de-fog was installed.

    Better attached the windshield trim, installed the wipers arms and blades, pounded out a small dent in the front passenger fender.

    My plan is to scrape some undercoating off of the inner fender and add my XV shock tower bracing.  Everything lines up nicely, but I need a clean surface as to not contaminate my welds.  As long as I do something every day, it will eventually get done.  All of this is still dependent on my job.  If nobody needs emergency brain surgery today, then I can get it done.

    Installed a new high torque mini starter and a positive battery cable and starter relay.  Man what a difference!
    Then I gave it a wash. Time to start winterizing it. Installing the wipers, and resealing the back window.  It does not rain here in the summer from May to November and I plan on driving it this winter.  I might even consider installing a heater valve and a new cable and getting that working.

    'Cuda Hunter, seriously, yes, brain surgery.  I am a nurse in a level 1 trauma hospital operating room.  I work on the neurosurgical service, and set up and assist in brain and spine surgeries as my specialty, as well as just about anything else that can come through the door.  Work left me alone on sunday.

          I did get my gussets welded up and welded my shock mount sheet metal to the inner fenders.  I will get the tubular bars welded in yet this week since I am working a late shift this week.  Hopefully it will all be finished by the weekend including removing my pinch weld at the firewall to trans tunnel so my OD trans fits.  That reminds me, I should ask Brad about that.

    Got the cuda out for her first long drive of the year yesterday.Had the day off work and decided to go apple picking up north.Got gassed up and only made it ten minutes before alt gage went to D but after turning around to go home it went back to charging and we risked it and ran fine the rest of the day.Put about 100 miles on her down some nice winding/hilly back roads with no traffic so really got to have some fun!  :burnout:  :bigsmile:

    Bet it was a beautiful ride there this time of year as the leaves as changing.
