Wow Dutch, did the throttle hang open? Sort of sounds like that to me ? Sounds like the throttle was on but labouring like the brakes were on till the kill switch was tripped? :dunno:
Horrible situation, I'm shocked the crowd was so close!

Tragic dutch.  I'm glad you and your son are safe and prayers go out to those who were hurt or killed.   :angelwings:

I spent all weekend cleaning out my garage at my new house.  Now I have both my cars tucked in.

Just had the Cuda out tearin up the interstate and having some fun, gotta pull the new mini starter out tomorrow as its not engaging the ring gear all of a sudden, it tries and spins up fine, it may need some grease on the shaft etc, wiring is good and tight, been starting fine till now.
As for driving, its a blast, so nice to give it a boot full on the on ramps, modern cars start moving over thinking an old 70's slug is entering the lane, only to have to move back and suck my fumes,,,,,LOL

this weekend I am putting a new cat back system on his 14 Challenger Black top and then on Tuesday I think I may be installing my new heads.

Unfortunately this weekend I am finishing cutting this one up and sending it to the scrap yard, and yes I am making sure all salvageable parts are saved. I have never seen a car so far gone in my life, really to bad to because the guy I bought it from tried buying it 20 years ago but the owner wouldn't sell it.

Just for the record before it goes to Mopar Heavan, did you find a tag or or build sheet?

This is from a few weeks ago while on vacation. Drove 2500 miles & averaged 29 MPG.(3.6L) This was the first trip using my wife's Challenger. Great car for a road trip!! I'll add the gopro video after I get off my but & edit the video.

I bought a couple doors and a trunk lid for my Challenger about a year ago.  OEM, 1973 metal.  Hoping it will be dry this weekend so that I can take my replacement doors and trunk lid out back and start sanding them and prepping them for some (hopefully) light metal work.  Gotta start replacing rusty metal on my car sooner or later :)

And trying to install new throttle cable and adjust it and the BPE transmission kickdown linkage.  If I can't get it figured out, looks like it will need to get towed to my friends shop.   :money: :banghead:

Gonna paint the new dash and get it ready to install. May get some new valve cover gaskets to stop my leaks

First test drive after my 518 install, a few bugs to work out, but it's awesome.
Completely different car, nice to stay up with rice burners on hwy without rattling the teeth out of my head.

Cool stuff, congrats! A word of caution though...... be mindful of speeding, it's MUCH easier to do now!  :grinyes:
