I was going to put my new over-drive trans in.....but the clutch set up didn't arrive.  :hyper:

So I took care of a bunch of little things instead, wiring, under hood cleaning, checking all the exhaust bolts, cleaning the trunk.

Enjoying about the last of the decent weather. Took it for a drive for breakfast with the wife.
She's always complaining about the smell. Seems the exhaust smell gets absorbed into her clothes and her hair.
I always tell her I dont know what she's talking about. I dont smell anything  :grinno:
I have noticed since I rebuilt my carbs last year Ive upped my mpg's from about 6 to maybe 8 or 9.
A 50% increase!!

Uhhh, Tommy, the exhaust tips are supposed to go under the valance, not the seats. Maybe a typo in the directions.   :clueless:      :smilielol:

Spent nearly all day on it, but i did some patchwork on the firewall [all behind the brace], fixed a hood mount and installed one side of the inner fender braces

Replaced the speedo cable that had been melted on the exhaust years ago...
Removed big clutch pedal spring as many here suggest when running a diaphragm style clutch and the pedal sometimes would stay on the floor. :22yikes:
Didn't like the way it felt without the spring so I over stretched the spring with my floor jack and put it back and it feels better... Did not stick to the floor, feels smoother... I'll give it some time to see if the "Memory" of the spring returns back to original. I stretched it enough that I could put it back on with just my hands. It did tighten up enough to not fall off. I'll give that some time. Otherwise I might consider putting a stop to limit the clutch pedal travel.
Not crazy about the feel of the center force clutch but it's brand new and I'm going to try to make it work until it needs to be replaced... $$

Finally got to work in the garage for the first time this season. I can still see my breath but with a light coat it's fine. Chips are flying on the lathe machining my new hubs.  :swaying:

Trying to put the new clutch and OD trans in...But they sent me the wrong clutch disc.  :pullinghair:  :banghead:

So now I am at a stand still until the new disc arrives.  :sadwavey:
