Another 6-7 hrs of sanding and then hand prep washing the complete interior and trunk area trying to get ready for some epoxy. After the epoxy, a bit more sealing and puttying with an eye to getting some single stage on the interior of this thing and move on to hanging the parts for the fitting stage. Can't have anymore fun with your clothes still on, I tell ya.

A lot of hours Ian but I know I'll be envious of your car when it's done. As a friend of mine says "keep your wings level and your eye on the horizon".
In search of the eternal buzz!

Thanks Murray, I appreciate and could use that! Now, if I spent more time on the car and less swanning around at car shows.......LOL!

My steering box will come out of my 'Cuda this weekend.....
With the 440 STAGE V HEMI CONVERTED engine, 2-1/4" header-primaries this job is MASSIVE.
The following parts will need to come off;
Battery.
Brake booster
EFI gas hoses.
Sway bar bracket driver side
Starter motor,
coolant fluid drainage
all to reach the 16 hard to get at bolts on the raised exhaust port HEMI heads.
There will be:
coursing, bleeding knuckles, and a lot of "looking around for the right tools", and even "tool heating and bending" to get at some of those bolts.
Country music listening (Internet radio is the BEST investment ever !!)
Climbing down/up the grease pit,
Yelling and cries...(me)
Laughs ( My friends)
2 of my friends finds the whole process so interesting, last night they brought their beer to my garage.
For most of the time they sat in their chairs and just enjoy the whole show.
Perhaps I should ask for entrance fees to night?
I JUST WISH IT WAS ME WATCHING THEM STRUGGLING.
But believe me, for reaching some of those bolts, friends ARE needed.

And then,...in a few weeks time when I get my steering box back from Firm Feel,.... the whole show in reverse.
:banghead: :banghead: :banghead:..an even harder exercise....  :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:

ALL THIS WORK,..and NOBODY will ever notice the difference to the car....but the few people DRIVING it.
I ask myself MANY times why I bother all this wrenching,...but when I see the cars ready to drive,... it all makes sense..... (sorry,...an older picture of my 'cuda used to emphasis my point)

Went to the Mopar Action event at Moroso track in WPB.  Not very many Mopars. Actually kind of disappointing, only highlight was a 68 Dart with a Hemi in it.
Clean car and that motor was tight, not more than a sheet of paper clearance on both sides with solid mounts.

I also averaged 18mpg for the 3hr round trip with the 518.
My 06 Mustang only gets 20mpg, so I'm pretty happy.

Attended San Gennero festival/parade/car show over the weekend. Had a wonderful time! Lots of crowd attention! Graveyard Cars has deffinately educated the general public on E-Body's IMO I guess!

Might be easier to support the engine with a cherry picker and drop the k-frame?

Or an engine support bridge... This is one from harbor freight.

Here they use one to replace the K member in a Charger. I need to do this myself...
