Today I cut down the air cleaner to get it to fit under my hood. Shortened it about an inch. It is a PG Classics 69 440 4bbl air grabber style but was too tall.
I don't think they have their mold quite right...
This is a test fit. I still need to weld in a new bottom lip so it will seal on the carb. Right now it's got a hole that is a little too big but should be an easy fix.
I used plumbers putty to check clearance. The highest point is the center of the lid and there is a solid 3/4" clearance now.
Need to straighten out some of the pleats in the filter too.
Have to decide on what to put on it for a decal or I may just leave it plain.
Here are a couple I was thinking about. The 340 Magnum would go in the same position as a Six Barrel decal.
The Cuda decal I created by stretching the one from Mother Mopar with some color editing. I would put this one at the front kind of like the Coyote Duster.

What do you guys thing about the base in Black Wrinkle finish like the stock 340 cleaner? It would go with the finish on the valve covers too.
I'm liking the look a lot.
