Supposed to be mid 70's here in Charlotte on Saturday.  Rotate the rear tires and start the "spring cleaning".

Finally got to drive the Challenger a bit.  Moved it out of storage Friday and admired it all day saturday.  Then I took it for a spin in the evening...Winter Sucked!

Pulling off my front sway bar to replace brackets and clean it up.  Of course one of the end links snapped so I also got to take it for a drive to O'Reillys for new links and bushings.

Hopefully, if all goes as planed, I will be doing a compression test on my 318. It hasn't been turned over in six years, so first I have to make sure it's not frozen up. I have already pulled the spark plugs and poured some Marvel Mystery Oil (about one once each) into each cylinder.  And Friday I will turn it over by hand, to make sure it will turn over, and then change the oil, oil filter, charge the battery and prime the oil pump.  Then Saturday comes the true test……will she start.  Keep your fingers crossed, I know mine will be.

Well, it took a little longer than expected, and I had to wait for my daughter to be there whe I tried, BUT SHE STARTED AND RAN FINE! :bananasmi  :woo:  :bananasmi  :woo:

She smoked for a while and she backfires a little but her heart is beating.

I am SOOOOOOO stoked.  :droolingbounce:

Sweet blue dash!

I worked on some rust on the top sides of the doors. Sanded, anti-rust prepped, primed. Took out the seats, vacuumed rear carpet, took front carpet out and gave it a thorough rinsing to get all the anti-freeze out. Leaky heater core made it a soggy mess. Was quite pleased to find rust-FREE floors!

Hopefully, Grancoupe will come next weekend to weld some inner fender patches (hood hinge area).

It helps when it's 84 degrees outside!   :woo:

This weekends accomplishments:

Got the pistons back from the machinist -- (balancing job)
Got the ring end gaps set and rings on pistons.
Got # 6 installed and torqued to crankshaft.
Not happy with #8 rod bearing, so a new one is on the way.
Installed passenge side head, complete -- all torqued down.
Also ordered a set of spark plug tube "O" rings.

Next weekends agenda:

Install # 8 to crank and button up bottom end.  -- (oil pan, windage tray, drag link and tie rod ends)
Install rocker gear on engine and set valves.
Install intake and carbs.

One more weekend left before the first cruise in.  That is when I will hook up the header and exhaust, add fluids, double check everything and light her off.  Then plenty of clean up before the first show.....     :2thumbs:

I took mine out for the first time in two months. Salty roads be darned.   :eek4:  It's amazing once you get back in your car and get into it, how much you enjoy it all over again. The bonus was getting a couple of thumbs up...I just wish they weren't always from men.   :1zhelp:
