:roflsmiley:     I took my wife Peggy for a ride friday. I had been gone for over a month.  I started out slow for a few miles and we just talked as I drove. Then I asked her which way was it to town at a stop sign. She said turn left, there was a long 1 mile straight stretch   Yup-I mashed the gas pedal :bananasmi. Oh you should of seen her trying to find a hand grip above the door glass like on the new cars. Her eyes got big and she was grabbing everything. The side of the seat, the dash, the side of the door. I was shifting at 6500 in 1-2-3 and up to 5 grand in 4th. Then I slowed down and she calmed down.  She said she had never been that fast in her entire life.   I guess I broke her in right. Cause she went from fear to Good lord that was fun and said she had a blast.  I told her that in a few more months I would take her out again with the new engine that I ordered rods for. (499cube)  After I break in that engine, I am installing a 318 back into my car and putting it all back stock as new.  But for now, this car is a blast to drive.

So I installed my trunk mat, sunvisor tips, jack, trunk latch cover, and other things so far this weekend.

Replaced signal fuse, cleaned bulkhead disconnect, and after firing it up, heard a funny alternator noise, hopped out, looked and found the alternator belt so loose it literally is ready to fall off :smilielol:
No wonder its been cranking slow :roflsmiley:
Heading out to handle it right now :working:

Wow Alan,
You've got a cool wife. If I did that to my wife, she'd give me a tongue lashing I'd never forget!! :swear: I might squall the tires a little and just get the LOOK!! :smilielol:I am putting the engine bay and wiring back together after I had the engine out and engine bay painted. I was supposed to get the motor dyno'd this weekend, but it won't happen till next week. The guy doing it has a $30,000.00 dyno in his garage. I was amazed at the setup!! He can do a motor up to 1600 HP!! :woo: He builds high dollar inboard boat motors. I hope I can get all my new wiring right. It's coming along slow, but looking good!! :2thumbs:

LOL that is true! When my wife chose her Yukon we were test driving a new hemi Durango. I realized she was not going for it and decided to warm the tires just a bit. She was mortified! You would have thought I was beating the vehicle with a baseball bat. Same thing when I took her for a ride in my dads Viper, she was not comfortable at all in it. At least I know she is going to leave my Challenger alone when its done lol.

After taking care of the loose belt on the cuda, I have started putting the Challenger interior back together on a seriously LOW budget. First installed some cheap black Home Depot carpet, Pressure washed the door panels and hit em with the ol flat white along with the other misc. dirty headliner trim, put same cheap carpet on package tray, installed tray, panels and console.

Pressure washed green 74 Challenger seats in preparation for the same ol flat white color change.

I'll finish with the interior tomorow and then I can, if it's still early enough, get the engine running. I need to find some coil nuts (go figure) a coil wire, fuel line, install an dirty ol carb, set up remote fuel tank, charge a battery and see if'n it'll run, if it does, add some atf and off I go :burnout:

Now, I know what y'alls thinking, but I am really broke at the moment and don't have the dough for new carpet, door panels or seat covers for the original 70 seats and it's just gonna be a driver anyhow.
I just wanna drive my Challenger again.
The manual steering and transmission on the Cuda are wearing me out :smilielol:

Taking the 440 source 499 stuff down to the machine shop to have it all balanced right now and might go try my car out at the track sat night. Hope I run an 8 in the 1/8th.  I mowed grass till 10 pm last night so I could play all weekend. Been installing a new ceiling in my shop all week and now going to the court house to see about a sales licsense to sell performance parts in the shop.
