I've been driving my car on an expired inspection sticker! Finally decided it wasn't worth the risk... so I've been spending the last week fixing my windshield wiper motor/linkage, rewiring my reverse lights to work, installing license plate lights, and fixing some leaking rear wheel cylinders ***Zzzzzzzz

I pulled off all of my calipers yesterday.  The rear caliper had its paint flaking off and it looked terrible.  So all of them are getting stripped and painted today.  No more red.  Im going with orange.  I like the way the orange engine looks in my blue engine compartment, so I think the orange calipers will pop behind my wheels and next to the blue paint.  Seems like everybody's aftermarket high performance brakes are painted red.

Bet you like the look a lot better! :2thumbs:
I fit pieces of sheet metal to fit the square holes left in the rear valence and welded them in. A little grinding and a little filler....no trace bumperettes were ever there.

Drove it with the Misses over to Santa Cruz and back over the Old San Jose/Santa Cruz hwy.
Beautiful drive thru the Redwoods.

Traffic isn't insane going there this time of year.

Spent another couple of hours sanding the epoxied-on glue from the vinyl roof, off, then pounded out and puttied 4 dents in said roof and then son Nick and I started welding up the Kframe. Fusion welded the seams and am re-welding the truly pathetic factory welds as well. Used the new rosebud to get a strut rod out of the Kframe that Alan so kindly sold me as well. Couple of Rolling Rocks to wash the rust dust out and called it a day after 5 hours.

Well, the diff is out of a 78/79 F250 with full float axles, 4.10 open centre. I bought Mopar housing ends off Cass to weld on, so with some careful measurements, I'll cut the floater ends off so as the housing tubes are the correct length with Mopar ends, I have a solid steel bar with machined adapters to go into the carrier bearing caps and also into the wheel bearing location of the housing ends so as its aligned as such (personally I think this is way over engineered as I'm certain the factory housing ends aren't as 'precise'). Once they are welded fully and the Spring perch's welded at 44" centres and 5* angle, I'll be good to go housing wise.
