Mike came over to my place today. He also has a 71 Hemi Cuda clone. Finally got his 71 Challenger on the road this week! Just needs a few items installed, shaker decal and emblems....  Next project is not one but 2 1968 R/T Chargers. He flys out to Alberta Wednesday to seal the deal and arrange shipping.

I'm hoping to install my new gas tank this weekend....

Got the master cylinder and brake boosters put on the 74 challenger with a 5.7 hemi that had it taken off because the master cylinder was leaking and he went with manual brakes. Got the brakes bleed and took it for a ride and the Challenger brakes way better than before. Was a easy install with the under dash linkage being the hardest part to hook up. It was well worth the $145.00 it cost for the booster and master cylinder. Here is a picture.

I applied my new 340 Hockey Sticks on Sunday.
They are so much better than the previous ones.  :2thumbs: Performance Car Graphics!  :2thumbs:

I bought the 418 Hockey Sticks from Phoenix Graphics to replace the ones from a party that will remain nameless, looked like they were cut out with scissors & too long.
I bought extra 340 call outs from Phoenix Graphics so I could change the numbers if I decided to go back to 340...
Phoenix Graphics were better but still not quite right to me...
So I bought Performance Car Graphics to replace the the ones from Phoenix Graphics...
:dunno: We'll see.  :clueless: I hope they are better.
Car is going to be photographed for "Randy's Ring and Pinion" Calendar in a couple weeks so I have to quit procrastinating :2thumbs:

20 hrs of puttying/board filing, finished soldering on the lft 1/4 and actually used another tube of the Proform 214 seam sealant. Unbelievable how many seams there are on these cars. Brazed up the rt 1/4-rocker joint and re-migged the 1/4 inr upr support brackets that go in the top edge at the 1/4 glass junctions.

Washed the car and detailed it while the sun was shining at temp was 65 degrees. The weather in the NE has been below normal for the past few months.

Test ran the car after moving the battery and msd ign to the trunk. Also added an MANL fused distribution block in the area where the battery used to be.
Didn't want to run at first. Found I had managed to connect the +ve coil wire to the -ve post. Ran much better once it was wired correctly.  ;D

I though some would like to see this....?
This Saturday morning I helped unload these as they just arrived from Alberta . Next projects for my buddy Mike is two 1968 R/T Chargers , one shell is really solid other than a trunk floor and the other is a AMD poster child. It should be a fun winter getting these two back together!  The red one is all numbers matching 440/4 speed Dana 60 car( it's all there parts wise) the other is a 440 /727 with A/C just a shell, drivetrain is long gone

Back from a full outside detail. Really smooth and the paint is jumping again.

Getting her ready for the De Anza show in a few weeks.
Engine compartment detail is next.

Friday the Cuda was in a  Photo shoot in Seattle for Randy's Ring and Pinion Calendar. Three day shoot and I really lucked out getting scheduled for Friday.
It rained Thursday and Saturday but was sunny for my drive into Seattle and back home on Friday.
They shoot 2 years at a time so I don't know if it will be in the 2017 or 2018 calendar.
They said they will send me a DVD with all the pictures they shot of my car and a stack of calendars. They will release the calendars at the SEMA show.
These are just some shots from my phone camera...

Today I cut down the air cleaner to get it to fit under my hood. Shortened it about an inch. It is a PG Classics 69 440 4bbl air grabber style but was too tall.
I don't think they have their mold quite right...
This is a test fit. I still need to weld in a new bottom lip so it will seal on the carb. Right now it's got a hole that is a little too big but should be an easy fix.
I used plumbers putty to check clearance. The highest point is the center of the lid and there is a solid 3/4" clearance now.

Need to straighten out some of the pleats in the filter too. :pullinghair:

Have to decide on what to put on it for a decal or I may just leave it plain.
Here are a couple I was thinking about. The 340 Magnum would go in the same position as a Six Barrel decal.
The Cuda decal I created by stretching the one from Mother Mopar with some color editing. I would put this one at the front kind of like the Coyote Duster.

   or

What do you guys thing about the base in Black Wrinkle finish like the stock 340 cleaner? It would go with the finish on the valve covers too.

I'm liking the look a lot.  :clapping:

Done deal.
I wonder how it would look on a matte black lid and a black wrinkle finish base... :clueless:
Maybe next year...
I found another Cuda image that I want to try too.  :ylsuper:
