Went to the 'States and picked up my Firm Feel rebuilt steering box and the K-frame/LCA reinforcement kits as well as all the new Moog front end stuff and then spent hours welding up the K frame.

I was thinking about doing this same K frame Firm Feel mod later on. Can you post some pic's and a before and after opinion?

Not sure what I've got for before pics, but I did take some after ones. They should include a simple diagram, but don't. I Googled it and found some on their web site. Most of it is intuitive, but there's 2-3 pc's that'll make you scratch your head. I also finished installing the LCA reinforcement plates as well. They're easy and only required a wee bit of trimming. I've had my ups and downs trying to load photos here, but I'll try.

My plans are to take my cuda out of a 2 year storage.   I remodeled the kitchen the summer of 14 and did the basement the summer of 15.   My cuda just sat in my garage for 2 years without being touched.   I'm pumped up this year for real.

Thanks! I'm wondering how much of an effect strengthening the K frame on driving/handling.

Spent the last few days peeling out the LCA inner bushing shells and isn't that fun? Finally got a system if anyone is looking to do that job. Pressed the new bushings in the LCA's and the pins and then tackled the UCA's. My conclusion is, that after 40+ years, there's no way in hell that they're coming easy and thank God for a good oxy/acet torch. Sandblasted the K and dura-guarded the whole shebang, then seam sealed both the factory ugly welds and my own, too. Paint it tomorrow and go looking for my other spindle, assemble the tie-rods and idler arm with the centre link and keep on pushing.

all the welds were grinded smooth so it'll look great once you paint it.

Send me a PM if you want it with your e-mail and I'll send you pictures.

Took the Challenger to Stratford (two towns away) for supper last night. Met a 73 Cuda on the road and saw a 72 Charger parked on the street in Mitchell (closest town).  :2thumbs:

It was my middle sons Prom night. It was REALLY hot and humid here and he still insisted on arriving in the Challenger!

It is not "correct", nor is it pretty, but it should be sufficient for the car's second life. Giving Eastwood's "Rust Encapsulator" a shot, applying Lizard Skin Ceramic coating to the floor boards and RaptorLiner bedliner to the wheel wells and parts that expect to see jackstands when I work on it.
