Finally installed a new tinted windshield after cleaning, rustproofing and priming the window channel
Original was cracked a long time ago and was non tint: this should be an improvement
Replacements are thinner than originals; had to compensate with 3/8 window weld. New molding clips from Roseville. (be careful when ordering the clips from other vendors- significant size difference in height)

what is window weld?
Window Weld for installation of windshields, similar to original material that was used back in the day
Basically round "dum dum" that comes in 3/8 or 5/16 thickness
Some people use this for an as original install and supplement it with urethane around the edges.

Took my Challenger to a SCCA Autocross race on Sunday (Livonia, MI.). What a blast! The only problem I had besides having basicly stock suspension with Helwig sway bars was whenever I was turning left gas was pouring out of the cap. I never payed attention to the cap before but someone drilled holes in the cap under the gasket. Apperently to vent the tank? In one of the pictures you can see fuel coming out of the car.

JOE MAMA --  Congrats on discovering autocrossing...its addictive and so much fun!!!  I've been doing it with my Challenger since I bought it way back in 1975... we should meet up same day!   you need to baffle your oil pan or install the Miloden road race pan as a #1 priority if intend to continue (the factory oil pan has no baffeling at all... shame on MaMopar for not having baffles).

Regarding the fuel coming out of the side gas cap, that's a common problem with our cars (Challengers)... so, here's what you need to do:  (1) get a new gas cap (vented, of course!); (2) Never run more than 1/2 tank when autocrossing (AX. or HSAX. or HPDE lapping)... better to run ~1/3-1/4 tank so to further avoid the spillage... running more than 1/2 tank is a guarantee that it will spill at least a little due to the high-g-force of LH cornering! (3) stuff and wrap a small rag all around and on top (under the flip cover) of the gas cap as a little extra absorption of any possible fuel that would/could spill out.   Trust me... I know this from many years of experience.

IF you'd like to run a DOUBLE-DAY HPDE AND HSAX event, this coming wknd of OCT 7-8, 2017 look up www.motorsportReg.com   for the Midwestern Council of Sports Car Clubs event at Blackhawk Farms Raceway, Rockton, IL... its about 90 miles W/NW of Chicago, just west of Rockford, IL  ... I'm co-chairman of the event... cash awards (over $3,000) for "consistency lap speeds" on the season-ending finalee on Sunday.   You can run Sat and/or Sun.... Guaranteed to be a blast of fun!!!  Camping inside the race track (I'm doing that) or nearby motels/hotels.   My cell phone is on the registration form... payment accepted at gate... all spectators are free.
Autocross/road racers go in deeper... and come out harder!

See  MOPAR ACTION MAGAZINE, AUGUST 2006 ISSUE for featured article and details on my autocross T/A.

Mopar-Mitch: Thanks for the information about the oil pan! There is a chrome aftermarket pan on it that was installed by the previous owner. I'm sure there is no baffles. I know what will be on top of my birthday/Christmas gift list. I have a new gas cap to take care of the gas leaking during left turns. Thanks for the information about the fuel level!
I plan on running it again in a SCCA event this weekend at Michigan International Speedway. (DRSCCA Fall Into Autumn Solo) Thanks for the invite to your event! I never thought I would enjoy this type of racing but I was so wrong. What a blast. I'll be doing more of this next year.

I am impressed and ashamed... I have wanted to go autoX for sometime but always find an excuse not to. I am in the PNW (Washington) and I know there is a healthy AutoX effort here but I have yet to get out and do it. I put an EFI 6 pack on my Challenger to make it more reliable as well as to support an effort to run AutoX; however I also have a 2010 RT and an 01 Viper GTS ACR on top of my 73 Cuda (built specifically for road racing/autoX).

Both you guys have my respect for getting out and doing it, perhaps next season...
