WAS going to R&R the fuel pump, finish re-installing all the under hood items and fire 'er back up, but..........
Figured I'd check the timing chain while I had the pump out....flop, flop, flop...
So, back to the NAPA for a new chain ($22..whoo-hoo) and off comes the cover, blah, blah. Naturally, got water in the oil pan while taking off the cover, so NOW I'm waiting on VR-1 oil for the change. I'm buying from a friend who orders it from his source once a month, so that's why the wait.
It's been too damn hot to work lately anyway....98 in the shade yesterday. Hopefully, we'll be up and running again by Tuesday next week.
Lots to do in the meantime if it cools off.....steering column, wiring, carb, kickdown, etc.
YES, the motor WAS freshly painted.
