Spent tonight working on the wiring for the 5.7 conversion. We converted the AMP guage to a volt guage using a article from Mopar Action. Installed the tach adapter and wired for the coil on plug. Eliminated any non essential engine wiring from the harness. Installed the fuse box for the engine controls and started to fabricate a bracket for the computer. I've got a friend helping out and without him I'd be still looking at wiring diagrams.

I put an old direct connection 6 pk jet kit in my carbs and changed the oil.  Had a 383 6pk aluminum intake cut down   .040 to fit my 499.  Now i'm moving things around the shop and trying out the heater system. It got cold outside. I think it will be nice in here this winter

Alabama...winter-cold? Ya right! :roflsmiley: Your worst day in winter would be our best one here in Canada!
Alan did you assemble your 499? Just curious about the oil rings that go over the wrist pin? How does that work? Do you have a steel ring/shim below the ring to support it? Just trying to understand how it all works?
Who's crank-kit did you use?

I bought all the peices seperate from 440 source. Then I bought my own rings and bearings. I had the assembly balanced here around the house. It was 175 bucks.  The rings will have a steel ring in it above the pin. You put the dot down so it doesn't turn.

Here in upstate NY we had a unusally nice week end . So I got my front end aligned and went riding around . Even though I did not come across any other hot rods I still had a ball .
