It won't be me doing the work. I'm really hoping my mechanic will work overtime on this axle bearing this weekend.

Little bit of detailing and cleaning her up for the Cruising Downtown event next week: http://www.cruisingdowntown.com/.  Should be a lot of fun.  I hope to take a lot of photos.  :picture:

Oh, that's a bummer.   :swear:  How's the bearing bore in the axle housing?

I hope you get that taken care of.  :2thumbs:

How's the bearing bore in the axle housing?

It's about 1/16 of an inch oversize.  He has a spare 8 3/4 housing that we'll be using. Little did I know what was going on when I drove back from Columbus to Canada - lucky to get home or what.

Always thought the dash panel lights were on the dim side.........So I installed a lite bar.........It has a little LED light in the mount and I put one on each end to add more light.  Ths light only emits from the bar kind of like you need to look at a thermometer......one way.......so I angled the output towards the instrument panel.  I used pressure sensitive velcro to attach in 4 places. I will wait until tonight to see the real effects but in the garage, I turned the lights on and actually saw illumination.......in the daylight.    :woohoo:

Yikes! I need to go through and replace my rear axle bearings. Pretty sure they are originals  :eek4:

Guess I'll "have" to acquire a press  :icon16:

Great idea Dave.

I'd love to do that to mine, although, I think I just need to get any light working first...

I drove my Challenger about 100km today and put fuel in it. That's it for me.

I like the additional LED light bars, but your original lights were dim because you have the factory lights for a STANDARD dash.

They still sell most of the bulbs for those dash lights at Shucks/O'reilly auto parts stores.

Here's my stock Rallye dashboard instrument lighting.  They are cranked up the whole way, engine is shut off, and only the parking lights are on.  Otherwise, I find these to be more than adequate even at dusk.  And I don't think I'd change it.

I'd be curious to see how your LED bar illuminates the gauges.
