:iagree:

This does not sound like a graceful degradation...

Anyone else have bad luck with 440 Source bearing failure?

I have a 440 source housing and pump too. Never had a problem with it. I did swap out the pump for a Mopar Performance pump after I had over heating issues while sitting at a border crossing for 1 1/2 hours at over 100 degrees outside and was reading about different pumps and housings over on Moparts and on Dodge Charger.com.

Had to cover them up we have a snow storm on the way, it’s been dry in Denver this winter but that’s over now. After they dump salt and magnesium chloride all over the roads the Challenger and ZO6 are stored until the spring rains come.

Well it's Christmas time right?! And I've been saving up some $$ so I ended up buying a new 3rd member from Cass (Dr. Diff) a 489 case all brand new, crush sleeve eliminated, 3.55 gears with a Detroit true trac sure grip and regular 30 splined axles. I'm very excited it'll be perfect for my car! I pulled the axles and my old 3.91 741 case which was leaking. Put new inner seals in and now I wait!!

Look what you did Brad.. after reading all the threads I kept the housing (later one with huge passages) but bought a HV Milodon one from Summit. I thought why bother swapping it out later anyway.

Somebody want a new 440source water pump?

Finally put the water pump in.  After reading the data from Brads links above, I decided to put the put the 440 Source pump on the shelf.  I was more concerned with the low RPM flow.  I picked up a NAPA pump, which I think is only marginally better.

I also installed a new fan shroud.  Mine was missing.  If it stays dry, I may take it for a spin around the block.

Now I'm waiting for the new dash pad.  Yippee.

Ordered grille paint from Frank Badalson. Sanded/prepped Grille and argent painted parts on Saturday.

Way too much rain Sunday. Stayed home and kept dry.  ???

Later this week, more harnesses to be ordered.
