Painting my 71' Cuda Grille and lower valence insert tomorrow.

Finished tape/paper work today.
Then put a light epoxy primer on it where I had to sand thru for some small repairs.

Additionally, I had to go drive over the hill to Santa Cruz and buy "Fast" Acyrilic Laquer Thinner.
Nobody is allowed to sell it in the Bay area.

Had a great conversation with Roger Gibson on Friday. Really a great guy. His son just returned from Afghanistan. Hats off to him for all his help and advice.   :wavingflag:

I know now how to do these grilles the right way if anyone plans to do his paint formula.

It was time to finally get the rear bumper done.  The bolts were soo frozen solid I had to use a nut cracker to get them off.
The square end of the bolts were so rusted they just turned in place... blah blah blah...  hours of nonsense to get them off..

Anyway...  here is the before look of the '73 bumper.

I bought the '72 bracket and had read that only two of the bolts would fit to the bumper, but the bracket when on with all four bolts positioned properly.

Job done!

Okay...  here's one for you...

A friend of a friend has had an original AAR hood sitting around since he took it off his car in the 90's.  He finally decided to sell it and I went to pick it up this evening.  He lives about an hour away so I taped it to my hood with a rope looped thru it a couple times for safe keeping...

Came home in one piece!

It needs repair work which I'll document as I learn how to do it...

Man I love these hoods... more pictures later.

Finished  moving into a new shop.  Had to move out of the old one due to the city b!thcing about a non-permitted office.  Ended up almost 2.5x's the space than before.  Just got to build some shelves and get the lift moved now.  Then I can start working on my son's 72 Demon and my customer's 70 Challenger.  The Challenger is getting a 6.1 Hemi and 5 speed transmission and will be House Of Kolor Purple Pearl.  Already shaved the firewall and painted the engine compartment.  Plus, I have already tied the frame rails, installed torque boxes, lower radiator core support bracing and upper/inner fender bracing (all from US Car Tools).

Just too cold and damp to paint the grille.  On hold till it hits 60 degrees outside.

Thanks Bart! I actually added that a good few months ago.

I need to get better photo's of the car with it. My trunk lid isn't very good so I figured I'd see how it looks. I like it.

BTW - those dutch cell phones are HUGE!!  :roflsmiley:
