finally got my freshly machined block and stroker kit. Starting to put the short block together this weekend. bummer is the heads I bought off Moparts a few years ago have bent valves, guess I know now why the guy was upgrading to aluminum heads. hope to hear from the machinist on the status of the heads themselves soon.

:bananasmi  I got to drive my car for the first time in 5 months.

Here is a recap for those who don't know the story. Five months ago I pulled the 318 auto and 7 ¼ rear end and now in their place resides a 440 6 Pak (fuel injected) 4 sp with a Dana 60 and 4:10 gears, painted the engine bay and underside as well and detailing and or cleaning everything in the drive train.

The power and torque of the 440 is scary, until I get used to it, and traction is going to be a problem,  :grinyes: but I will learn to deal with that as well.  Once I get the fuel injection dialed in better she is going to be a blast to drive.
Here is a little video of her idling, the exhaust note is sweet.

Wow, talk about a change in attitude. You probably dont recognize the car. With that 4.10 setup you can pull tree stumps for a living! I'm curious as what rpm youre now running at 60mph on the highway. With my 3.54 I run about 3500 rpm IIRC.

This afternoon I am pulling the cuda out of the garage and giving it a nice "spray on" car wash. You know, the kind using a spray bottle instead of a hose and bucket. Have the florida mopar nats next sunday to get ready for, and I only have today since I will be out of town friday and saturday.

Thanks Guys,

Brad, thanks for the heads up on my sig bio, I will up date it.

Tommy, I haven't had it out on the highway yet.  I know that the RPM is going to be high, that is why I will be going to a Passon 5 sp when they hit the streets.

wow...uploader is full. I hate that. I spend 10 minutes typing and it all gets deleted. Sometimes this site just stinks to high heaven. I post in at least 5 other car sites and this is by far the worst when it comes to that technical stuff, but the best people are definitely in here
Anyways I will try again with photobucket.

Went to a local cruise in today as prep for next week, and took a picture of my cuda in front of my sisters flower shop. There were about 50 cars there, but only a few other moopars...a nice red 340 (72-73, I cant tell them apart) challenger, and a nice 340 dart swinger. My favorite two others were the murdered lotus, and the toxic green viper. Beautiful! I would trade the cuda and stealth for that in a heartbeat. I dont understand some people. The lotus owner did the entire interior in a thick camouflage velour, dash and all. Yuck! The 396 SS camaro is "real" according to the owner, though I think there are a LOT more real ones today than came off the assembly line. I bet they are easier to fake.

And I am following the passon 5 speed saga as well. Hopefully they will come out in numbers this year. Maybe I will get one for Christmas if I start saving now (for Christmas 2014!)
