Cam swap and 4bbl upgrade.  Nothing radical, just to help her breathe better.  Motor mocked up, but still awaiting a few small parts.

Today I got my vintage air gen IV hung on the fire wall, installed my refurbished redline gauges in my dash pod, and then put the dash in my cuda.  Tomorrow I can tidy up some of my wiring, hook up some duct work, and then assess what needs to be started on next.

Over the last couple of weeks, I took all of my front suspension hardware and prepped it for putting back together.

First stage:
Soaked in white vinegar and Lemon juice for 2-4 days.

Second stage:
Soaked in Evaporust overnight.
It's becoming expensive so I try to minimize its usage now. I just use it as a final cleaning now.

Third stage:
Wash the parts off in Laquer thinner.

Fouth stage: Heatgun parts and coat with RPM from ECS.

It's really not alot of work. Just time of a few days while I gather the remaining parts left to do.
Front sway bar, struts bars, and Idler arm are out for sand blasting while these are being done.

I installed my new hood squirters and hoses that I got from Carlisle. I still feel like this  :dupe: paying $110 for 2 hood squirters!  :pullinghair:  Got it all hooked up and found the manual rubber foot pump didn't work and it leaked. Took it apart and cleaned all the yuck out of it and got it all working!  :2thumbs:

Took it for it's 3rd ride of the year yesterday. It's amazing how well that car runs considering I'm the mechanic.    :grinyes:

People pulling up next to me on the hiway and not passing, then I look over and their eyes are on my car and not the road.   :22yikes:  This scares the pooh-pooh out of me.

I haven't run my Challenger in years. A few days ago, I got fed up with myself and extended the exhaust pipes past the rear valence, tightened the bolt holding the oil filter extension on (it was seeping oil past the edges), new battery, installed radiator overflow tank, tried fixing the stripped exhaust manifold bolt, drained the gas tank of all the old gas.

All that's left is to put a gallon of fresh premium in, push it out into the driveway, and see if I can start it.

If it runs and all is looking good, I'll go get some new plates & registration for it.

New dash pad, new quartz clock movement, cap, rotor, door panels, door locks, fuel pump, and a pair of 3 1/2" speakers to replace the 4x10 original. Whew!

I filled the radiator, pushed it out into the driveway, put a gallon of gas in it, connected the battery, primed it with the electric fuel pump, got out the fire extinguisher, held my breath, and turned the key.

After 4 years, it fired on the first revolution of the crankshaft! I was stunned.

I let it run for a bit, until I noted that fluid was leaking out of the top of the radiator cap. Off to the auto store tomorrow to get a new cap. Everything else looked fine, but of course I wasn't able to get it properly warmed up with the leak. But a good start!

I recorded it with my ipad. Unfortunately, the audio has poor dynamic range, and all that lovely crackling sound of a hopped up V8 mopar was kinda dulled on the playback. Like a piano, you gotta hear it live!
